@karins Thanks!! Yeah, I probably will add an outline. I didn't realize until I posted it how much the light background messed with the bust. The tiles are placeholders at the moment but I still plan on using kinda light colors for the areas.

I have the core gameplay loop down, for the most part but I'm not sure if the game would be fun enough (since it's essentially a walking simulator that makes you do math), so I'm working on that for now. Haven't actually done any actual game making though; mostly just testing concepts and stuff...
Yeah, that sounds nice to me tbh! As long as it's not like advanced trigonometry. If it's integrals just make it really really easy so I can feel smart!

I've got the story all planned out, most of the battles done, and the dungeons laid out. The priority now is graphical work and the main character's bust turned out great! Might add his Bladeguitar into the portrait later depends how much time I have.

I've got one dungeon done - going for two! Hopefully the game comes across as fun and lighthearted. that was really my only goal going in!
the concept is basically; 'in a world where people who experience extreme emotion can become monsters - rock star gays go globetrotting to revert the monsters lost in the corners of the world back into people via their sick jams'

I guess I should share my idea with you guys, maybe it will help undecided people come up with ideas of their own.
So, my main character is an expert "matchmaker", her specialty is bringing people together and forming romantic couples. She gets called to a beautiful tropical island to help form couples between the island's youth. There are four guys and four girls in the island, and the chief is adamant that you only pair guys with girls and vice-versa.
However, as the matchmaker explores the island and discovers the preferences and feelings of the young singles, she realizes it is impossible to make everyone happy unless the chief allows two gay couples (two guys, and two girls) to be together, and then she has to convince the chief to let go of his preconcieved notions of how love should work so they can all be happy.
At first, I intended to make it sad and sober, but then I realized it would work better if I made it mostly upbeat and funny with a few sad moments here and there.
(and obviously that's not the case this time either way!!)

I was initially doing something relating to capitalism (minimum wage earners getting spare change for a day's hard work), but it was kinda hard not to go straight into the "Communist Propaganda" side of things...
it's an incredibly broad theme.
You could lean in and make it part of your aesthetic for whatever story you want to tell. Soviet propaganda has a very distinct style to it you could take advantage of. Maybe be... a wee bit careful with it, because you know... soviet union... but it could work, I think.
