Okay, so say a video game wants to have a light-hearted and silly/cute atmosphere so it names all its monsters, and in the desc for the monsters, you get some endearing summary of the monsters life/likes/relationships. Keeping in mind that the monsters are stated to flee when you defeat them, do think this would be endearing or would it invoke some negative emotion?
Ex: Kelsie Cubella likes long walks in long grass and enjoys eating tofu because it looks as cute as she does. Her boyfriend Karl Cube is a hopeless romantic and the light of her life.

:D That's good to hear, you guys. Thanks for the input. ^.^ I hope you like our bacon project in that case!

I think it would invoke a negative feeling in some people, and a positive feeling in some people.
It would invoke a negative feeling in me because I would feel bad for scaring the monsters away. :(

@Piano + Cap <3 I think it sounds like a good idea too. :P
@Sooz That's fair! I personally wouldn't feel too bad about scaring them since they're not dying at least. My team had a compromise where the names will be in the description of the monster as well, so you won't have to look at the monster's life if you don't want to.
@Craze I think so - mostly there are themes about individualism so making each monster an individual seems to to fit to me~

I almost have to question why players are even fighting monsters. Or, maybe, they are not fighting, per say?
*Edit: Like, maybe the idea is that "monsters" are some kind of pets that players get to play with? So, when players "win" and the "monster" runs, I guess they are either too tired to keep playing, or are poor losers, or... something?

@Marrend It's startled/aggressive wildlife mainly. :P You have a good idea there, though! I'd play "Play with Dog" the game where battles are actually just play dates. ^.^
