Of the consoles you own, which is your favorite?

author=WIP link=topic=801.msg10607#msg10607 date=1205734577
My favorite console I own is my Super Nintendo.
I was going to say this. It's closely followed by the PS2, though, and the 360 is doing pretty well for itself on my list so far.

OBJECTION! There aren't any Ace Attorney threads!

So Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney saw it's release last Tuesday and I just finished beating it on Saturday. Verdict: It was definitely fun, but playing it made me realize how much I love Trials and Tribulations. I'd place it above Justice for All and possibly the original Phoenix Wright, but below Trials and Tribulations.

My major problem with Apollo Justice is that there just wasn't any (visible) antagonist. Traditionally, the prosecutors served as a strong oppositional force. Klavier, the prosecutor in this game, was extremely laid-back and cooperative. I love the glimmerous fop, but he totally didn't do his job. One of the great things about having Phoenix and Edgeworth or Godot battling it out was that they were determined to find the truth by putting up the best fight they possibly could.

BIG SPOILERS:
I'm really divided on Phoenix's role in the game. On one hand, the part of me that played the past three games loves the plans he made, the huge changes he enacted, and the justice he helped serve to Kristoph.

On the other hand, the part of me that recognizes that this is supposed to be sort of a fresh start dislikes how much he overshadowed Apollo in the end. I'm all for cameos and recurring characters playing an important role here and there, but I'd like to see Apollo handle things on his own a little bit more. It always bugged me in the past games when Mia would come and save the day for Phoenix, when I didn't feel like I needed it. That was sort of how I felt at the end, though Phoenix certainly had a good reason to interject.

Still, the twists at the end were brilliant and I surprisingly didn't see the familial ones coming.

Anyway, here are some Apollo Justice pictures that I loved:

Large non-spoilery images:

It's -52*C with the wind chill!

It always feels a lot colder when I wake up on school days. It might be because I just don't want to go to school, or because I wake up about two hours earlier. Either way, it makes me feel like staying wrapped up in my blanket and going back to sleep.

But by 3:00, it usually gets really hot. Even though I have all the windows open and my fan on, I feel too miserable to do anything. Make up your mind, weather.

What we did horribly on our first games.

Sorry for going off topic, but :o. Haven't seen Gredlen around here in ages.
Yeah, I kind of, um... frequent another message board have been really busy lately!
I'm making an effort to get back into the groove of things here, though.

What we did horribly on our first games.

I must have been 11 or 12 at the time. My first game was some Lunar fangame in RM95 that actually had nothing at all to do with the Lunar series. I didn't know what switches were at the time, so every time you opened a chest, you got teleported to a different version of the map.

... That game didn't last long.

It's -52*C with the wind chill!

... Man, I'm cold when it's positive 60 degrees!

I have 1000 wii points burning a hole in my pocket...

I won't suggest it over Super Metroid or any of the Zeldas, but I'm going to make an offbeat suggestion here and say Wonderboy in Monster World.

It's a relatively simple game that few people have played, but it's still pretty fun. You can't tell from the video, but there's a minor exploration aspect similar to Metroid and the later Castlevania games.

Top Ten Topics: Christmas Gifts Given and Received

I don't have ten things I'd put on my list. Christmas was on the lean side this year, since we were visiting my sister and brother in Alabama and wanted to carry everything back ourselves.

Given:

A Hello Kitty iPod case
I don't have a picture, but it's pretty rad if I do say so myself.

A Final Fantasy Tactics Trading Arts figure of Balthier
Balthier is the best character in Final Fantasy XII and he's basically Orlandeau with a gun in Final Fantasy Tactics. Also, he has a totally sexy voice. This figure does him justice.

Received:

Nintendo Wii
Putting aside all the doom and gloom about the future lineup of games, I'd still be pretty happy with the Virtual Console stuff. I've already purchased $30 worth of points as well as a Classic Controller!

Super Mario Galaxy
Oh man, this game is so awesome. Playing games on a new console after Christmas is always great, but getting to play Super Mario Galaxy after Christmas was nothing short of pure bliss. I think it was a perfect Christmas game. I never expected to love the soundtrack to a Mario game, but man. There are some pretty great songs in Super Mario Galaxy.

Phoenix Wright: Justice for All, Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations
I picked up the original Phoenix Wright shortly before all the hype really started going and I loved it, so naturally I wanted to get the second game when that came out. However, I was focusing on clearing my backlog, so I never got around to buying it. I wasn't even really conscious of the fact that the third game came out. With all the things I had to worry about recently (Christmas stuff, school stuff, money), I'd completely forgotten about getting the Phoenix Wright games. Other games ended up being higher on my priorities list, like Bioshock and Mass Effect, which I'm only now getting around to buying.

Enter my friend, who had moved away a few months ago. We don't keep in contact since he doesn't have an internet connection yet, but he does text my other friend. I guess he knew I'd never get around to picking up the second and third games, so he got me both for Christmas. I didn't expect him to get me anything at all, since he moved away. Money was very tight for him when he lived here, so his gifts were generally (and understandably) on the sparse side. The fact that he got me both of these games completely blew me away. I didn't feel like rating my gifts, but this would be number 1 simply because it was unexpected and thoughtful.

Generica - [RMVX..?]

Well, I'm still alive and kicking. I haven't visited this site in a few months, as some may have (but probably haven't) noticed.
I just want to say that I'm still on board for making graphics for this game. I'll try and read up on what I missed.

Razorblade Symphony DEMO v1.0 Released!

I haven't played a RM* game in... well, at least a year. I might check this out later today or tomorrow, but I doubt I'll post any thoughts on it until the end of the weekend.
