Non-RM Engines: What's stopping you?

Familiarity with the entire system. I know exactly where I need to go and what I need to do if I want to create/adjust items, weapons, and characters, and I know how I can use what I've created.
If I try another engine out, all of this tends to be a lot less clear-cut, and the documentation is invariably lackluster.

Personally, I think there should be some sort of documentation that holds your hand all the way through creating a basic game using the engine. Do it first, then tell me exactly how I can do it, too.
Show me how to create a character, how to make NPCs who can talk to me, offer choices, how to add and remove things from my inventory or party, how to create enemies and battle. Let me see how a somewhat-fully-featured game using the engine is made, so I can learn by example.

Japan Time

I just want Marth to return.
I'll still get and love the game even if he isn't in it, but he was my favorite character to play as.
Along with Falco, who isn't likely to return.

Games you've been neglecting... (The Pile of Shame)

Yeah... I'm just getting allies for the Oblivion gate near Bruma. The only problem is that, even if, after loading my game, I sprint out of the room and QT out of Skingrad, the game still crashes... I'm pretty sure it's the Count causing it because the game crashed before when I did the quest for making an antidote to vampirism, but I have no clue how to really fix it.

Oh... in that case, you might want to try and reinstall Oblivion.

Generica - [RMVX..?]

You could possibly have each tree add certain modifiers to stat growth.
For instance, if you choose a protection-based tree, you would gain more defense upon leveling.

Shadows of the Collosus :'(

Haha, me too. I got halfway through and stopped... I lost interest when I had to keep checking FAQs for a strategy for every colossus I found :P.

Apart from that... Oblivion. But I had to stop playing the game because I'm at the Castle Skingrad and the game crashes every time the Count enters the main room. A huge bummer, because I spent hours beating the Arena, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood quests prior to trying the main quest :(.

I don't think you need to talk to the Count of Skingrad to finish the game. If you're at the part I'm thinking of, it just helps out a little, but it's not necessary.
So get back to Oblivion! Maybe.

Games you've been neglecting... (The Pile of Shame)

In this topic, we list the games that we've stopped playing, not necessarily because they're terrible, but because we've just had issues fitting them into our schedules.
These are games that we would really like to get back into, but are inexplicably having problems picking them back up.

Here's my little pile of shame:
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Suikoden IV
Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy XII
Riviera
Pokemon Diamond
Odin Sphere

I'd also like to pick up Suikoden V before it's too late... and I should probably get Grim Grimoire, too.
*sigh*

The Great Console Count

SNES
GameCube
GBA
DS Lite
PSP
PSX
PS2
Xbox 360

RPGs... or other games I should buy.

I've actually recently been considering buying some games for my SNES off of eBay or the like, as well.
Aside from Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid, though, I don't know what to get.
I think I'm just going to buy a few games, since I'm sure a lot of them will end up going for so much cheaper on the Virtual Console (whenever I get around to getting a Wii).

Holy crap FF12. (Spoilers ya'll, but not big ones.)

I don't think I've ever had a fight that epic in an RPG before, and am not like to again... unless there are better bosses later in FF12.

Oh, you'd better believe it.
*won't spoil anything*

Also, I just noticed that there's a quote button! Whoops.
