Can I use my old saves with it?

Nah, I think that's a great way to keep stuff in check, it's easy to forgot or miss things when trying to plan a detailed system! :)

Aside from my main project Shadow Seeker, I just finished working on an animated title screen for a side project of mine called HavenTale.
This game won't see production until a good ass while lol I just wanted to make a title screen for it nevertheless :D
(...)

Dang, this looks good! I'm assuming it's gonna be a lot more whimsical and relaxed than Shadow Seeker?

Zelda: The Trident of Power DX

I couldn't make it to the Zora and Goron domains, though. Is there a sidequest I'm missing?

Zelda: The Trident of Power DX

Yeah, just to be safe, write all filenames in English in the future. Being Brazilian, I learned that lesson the hard way too.

Also,
the fight against Melder is easily my favorite fight in the whole game. The attack patterns are interesting, especially that orb thing that circles him while he moves around.

The only part of his fight I didn't like was the black hole thing. It's okay for the most part, but when the black holes spawn off-screen, it is impossible to know where to go in order to stay safe.

The scene that comes right afterwards is pretty thrilling and tense! That was my favorite cutscene sequence in the game, as it actually shows what it has to show through flashbacks when applicable, and I actually care about the things that are happening in it.

EDIT: just tried the arena battles in Sirion for the first time, and they were really good. I like that we're pitted against various powerful foes at the same time in some of those, especially the Valkyria squadron.

The one thing I find kind of weird is that the Valkyria squadron's defeat grunts sound a bit... lewd? I dunno, they sound like they come straight from a hentai, lol

EDIT 2 (more spoilers):

- The war sequence is pretty decent. It's not the most compelling part of the game, but it does its job well. The battle against Raith was pretty good, too. Also, the moment with Irma and Miya was quite moving and I liked it. After the war I decided to just go to Hyrule castle at once.

- Battle with Sachiel at the gates is quite good. I liked him so much, it made me sad to have to kill him. But still, that is a testament to how invested I became in the plot, despite the problems with pacing and cutscene density that I previously mentioned.

- The Hyrule Castle title card thingy says "Caslte" instead of "Castle", might wanna get that corrected.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

So, since my egg hunt project that I will be doing outside of the Seasons jam (I will need that time to work on my thesis) will involve more action than my other games so far, there are tons and tons of different states and animations the player character can be in at any given time. And that, in turn, can lead to copious amounts of bugs of the "get stuck in a particular animation state" or "become unable to do certain action" type.

So, in order to organize my ideas better and try to avoid this kind of bug taking place, I created a spreadsheet detailing all animation and state changes that I intend to add to the game.

My question now is: is this actually me organizing my thoughts, or is it me procrastinating while telling myself I'm doing work?

Seasons of RMN IV

So yeah, I'm not gonna partake in this event :( I need to finish my thesis by February, and if I distract myself with gammak, I might get in trouble.

I will be making a cute egg hunt game on my free time, that much I promise.

Spellblaster Demo this week!

Am I stoked? Yes.

Am I looking forward to it? Absolutely.

Am I going to be sincere about my impressions regardless? You bet.

Fear the Deer :: 2021 Gammak Challenge!

Can my entry to this challenge be the same entry to the seasons event?

Seasons of RMN IV

I'm thinking about joining with an autumn themed Easter egg hunt (it's autumn in the southern hemisphere in Easter). The idea would be a simple graphic adventure with puzzle elements and some dodge-and-collect skill challenges akin to stuff like Frogger of Pac-Man thrown in for good measure. It's gonna have very little story, but hopefully I can shoehorn a message about friendship or something in.

What do you guys think of this idea?

Zelda: The Trident of Power DX

Mind Industry impressions:

Positive:
- The atmosphere and style are awesome.
- Once you get the hammer, exploring the rest of the dungeon becomes very satisfying.
- Interesting dungeon mechanics and puzzles.

Negative:
- The back-and-forth action in this dungeon, where you have to constantly backtrack to the power source rooms to turn the power on and off gets old quick.
- The teleporter maze is a slog because the teleporting animation is too long winded.
- I eventually realized that, up to this point in the game, no enemies make a conscious effort to aim at you when shooting their projectiles. This makes them way too stupid to ever pose a credible threat.
- Okay, this is probably a coincidence, but one of the passwords is 1488. This is just a coincidence, right? Please tell me it's a coincidence.

Overall:
I think it's a good dungeon. It's got its problems (cited above) but overall it was interesting and engaging.
