seriously though, I'm a graphic designer from Canada, Im 23 and I have a soft spot for rpgs. I love them to death. Legend of the dragoon was probably my favourite. Final fantasy x is right up there, and Grandia 3 or dark cloud 2 ... :D :D :D final fantasy 7 would probably be on my list but i never played it. or number 8... or 9 lol... so sue me ^^

Alright, I followed you here through CC, and after seeing through all of the maps and a bit of the intro for your game I REALLY want to play and review this! However, there doesn't seem to be a download anywhere, unless it's slightly hidden or something.
From what I've seen through the pictures you've posted, though, I have a question. I've seen a few of your drawn artworks, and they are REALLY nice. Why aren't you hand-drawing portraits and such? You seem to have the talent to do so.
I took the download down, because the game is going through a LOT of changes. so the demo that was available does not accurately portray how the game is now. as for not hand drawing portraits, It is because that would take too long, and this is only a practice game. My next one will be 100% original artwork and sound track.

I call dibs on the house in the middle!
This is really nice, I like it. The trees compensate the earthy brown colours of the city nicely.
I do feel that the far left edge of the middle house needs definition. Where the white of it's wall meets the city ground is hard to tell apart.
This screen shot is zoomed out and blurred by the re sizing. it doesnt blend so badly in actual game play. I assure you :D

author=pyrofiend324Part of the issue is my overlay technique, this is back in some of my early work, and I was sloppy and inconsistant with how my bottom and top layers were built. this was causing double layers, which made shadows too dark, and colors too saturated. hense, the dark ass shadows, and puke green neon grass.
The grass underneath the trees seem a tad bit unnatural here. Not entirely sure if that was supposed to be the case.
In spite of that though I find this map to be really, really gorgeous, as a lot of your other maps have proven to be.
Getting Nifty (hard at work guys)
No one who bought a computer in the last 3 years is going to have trouble with this. I have a few scripts in place to help it along, but the way I do my eventing is pretty simple and clean.

I could do some pitch changes, wouldnt be a big deal.

Egoraptor is a smart guy who knows a lot about game design if you can get past the YELLING.
If you read my review you probably get the idea that I love a good straight forward yelling lmao. So it doesnt push me back at all.
CC there are a lot of games on here that i downloaded to give a try, and simply turned off because they were aweful. That didn't happen with yours, and I truly feel that your game has a lot of potential. As for your character being far from a noble woman, she can be giddy, joking and different, without sounding like a black ditz from the block... no racism intended but everyone knows what im talking about. I cant take her seriously. I dont know if you like "kenta" from my game alter legend. but im writing him as a goofy character that can still be taken seriously.

You know how I love cities~ But yeah, the ground is the only weird part of the map. Love to see you edits!

I personally thing that, more than shading, it needs to have some more clutter to hide the repetative patter of tiles.
