until now!!! I think your idea of making arthur playable early on is cool. I like stuff like that. It would be neat if playing as him gave you some ideas of his weaknesses and maybe this information could be used to your advantage later but that sounds hard.

Star Ocean 2 has its fair share of interesting items. including:
an item that increases in value as game time increases
an item that actively decreases your funds more the longer you hold onto it.
