I think that you are giving too much weight to reviews and review scores. I believe that people in general give much more weight to how the game is presented in the gameprofile, and before that, the genre of the game.
I dunno about that. When I first came to this site, I generally searched through the database just looking at review score.

I recall some discussion a few weeks or so back about allowing shorter blurb reviews but I believe that was before the major staff shift? I don't recall. At the very least, it's been brought up before.
