i don't think anybody got "worked up" over anything (except the people talking about others being mean!!! take this!! yeargh!!) but it was less the fact that it got 27 votes and more that people voted for it in each category without rhyme or reason

anyway games are not really art so yeah they can be judged objectively and one game can be simply better than another. regarding misaos the reasons winners are jumped on are not just to say fuck you dad but rather that much like US elections the best options are usually superceded by bad ones. While I do not think vacant sky is a bad game, it's pretty ludicrous to believe that it totally blew away every game in every category and I don't really think you could argue that it deserved every thing it won. Nonetheless, it did, which makes me think "woah. misaos are kind of dumb and terrible and worthless. much like myself."
