Removing background from character images
You know how Rpg Maker, VX has it so that if you import an image, there is a color remover to remove the background color so no blocks around your character or items etc. (only applies to PNGS however.)
However, in my case, my character set sheets apparently have like 4 shades of black or so, and have no idea how to get these out so the picture in the color in the background is removed while importing to VX.
If you could tell me how to do it, or if you could quickly do it for me, it's only 4 images, then it would be great. Thanks.

How planned-out should your RPG be before you begin?
author=Mateui
I think that the answer to this question depends a lot on what type of RPG you are making. What is your focus? Is it on gameplay, story, characters, something else? Whatever it is, the more you have planned in that regard the easier it will be for you down the road.
I strongly suggest you keep a game design document. If story is your focus jot down the major and minor plot points from beginning to end. I'm a huge proponent of foreshadowing and you can't really foreshadow at all if you don't know yourself where your story is going. And you can easily tell the difference when playing games if the designer planned ahead or not.
There is no such thing as overplanning when it comes to game design. You may think it's not as fun as just jumping into the program and doing something, but you'll be so much more efficient if you resist that urge and plan instead.
Creativity is like art, you don't plan ahead, the picture turns out with how you vision it. It make no sense to plan ahead on something when 99% of the time it's going to end up being something different then what you planned in the first place.
Unless your actually making clones of games like FF etc. then in that case.

The script you're looking for is called Tankentai.
Yanfly Engine Melody can also do it. It's more work to set up the way you want, but it also has a lot more options and features.
No that's the still one. There's an animated one for XP I know there's an animated one for VX.

There are several scripts around for that. Check out the scripts here on RMN, I'm sure you'll find something that will fit what you're looking for.
There are only 3 battle scripts for VX on this site and none of them are even close to what I am looking for. Thanks though.

Think of it this way: How many licensed games can you think of that were made without the developers carefully planning everything out? And furthermore how many of those games were good?
A lot.
My method is to just start and make small games, then combine them together. Like on might seem a bit crap in the gameplay but a great story and music track, another with character progressions, and another with more detailed map design and battles, put them together, you get a 20+ hour great game. Doing everything at the same time can be disaterous.
It can also go the other way around to, but it depends on how you do it.

Is it possible to have the 2k3 style battles in Rpg Maker Vx, animated, or is that not possible and there are no codes for it?

oh, id use VX ace
( I definatly wont use XP, i just cant stand the way those characters look.)
ahhh VX ACE, its like VX, but better in like, every way. xD
VX Ace has so many programming walls and code problems (custom) I have to call BS on that. There's almost nothing better about VX Ace, or changed much from VX Ace except the RGSS and the map set-up.
