Hey let's all become an elitist community and flush all the crap including rpgmaker! then when about a year goes by and we're at 12 active members, we can change the site to saltw.net
Ohwait

Yeah, this is exactly why we can't go banning anything. If people want to use rips there's no way we should be able to stop them, besides persuasion. If people want to use custom graphics, but can't make them, they can always try to team up with someone. I doubt anybody here would ask for money.

Frankly, I don't see how it is hard to make halfway decent graphics anyways. I'm sure Ocean would happily point you to (his?) tutorial on it. That's where I learned in 2 days. 2 DAYS. After that it's all just practice, practice, practice.
For me, it takes valuable time doing something I'm completely and totally not interested in for a result I couldn't care less about.

I have to admit, I sort of agree with the rips thing. I'm not saying we should ban using them, god no, that would destroy the community. We should probably heavily encourage making your own, using free graphics, or you know, ASKING SOMEONE TO HELP. I am not a big fan of seeing rips anymore.

I really don't want this to be another LL discussion, but I will say that LL isn't badly made or anything, only that it appeals to a certain audience. I agree that we should up our standards though, since it really bothers me when I see these first game type projects pop up from time to time.
