I've just finished the first dungeon of the game. Now it's a couple cutscenes (each with its own shocking revelation) and Chapter 1 is finished!

I have two more rooms to design (one of them a boss room) and then the first dungeon is finished! Wooh!
After that, it'll just be a matter of a couple of cutscenes and that'll wrap up the first chapter of the game. Then I *might* be ready to release a demo.

Best I can do in a jiffy. No, I'm not really a face spriter either. Yes, that's original. No, it doesn't have patches or horns, but I might be able to add them later, provided you think it's a decent start.

Well, if you're not aiming to sell your game/are using gamerips in it already, you could always create faceart using anything that hasEvil King Stan on it (he's a character from from "Okage: Shadow King"). The two look very similar.

@Hesufo: I love the trees and the foliage you're using for your mapping, but I find this particular screenshot to be a little bit "busy". It may be the variety of ground types used (I can count four, not including the vinewall tops), or the combination of different colours (too many types of green! Usually one for the wall, one for the floor, and one for placeables is good). But that's partly a matter of my personal preference: as you noted yourself, I like my maps simple :-3
Now for some more constructive advice. I would change how your trees are clumped (they seem to be in twos, which is an unnatural growth formation) and I might get rid of the mossy tree stump, as it doesn't really match the other treestyles you're using. A "foliage fog" might be nice, but I'd try to make it subtle. Use one at your own discretion :-)

One of these I posted in the "what are you working on topic", but the other two should be fresh. After this, I'll try to hold off on screenies until I've got a demo :-)

Implemented another puzzle into the current dungeon. It's a keypad for opening one of the gates in the dungeon. If I can come up with one more, my puzzlelust will be sated.
