Best VX games on this site.
I've yet to beat it myself, but I can fully endorse "Star Stealing Prince". I'll be shocked if it's one of the five you've played and disliked.

@Radnen: I have very little to say on this one. I love the look you have going: good colours, and detailed without being hyper-realistic. The stairs bother me a little (something about the perspective: I think increasing the shadows on the forward-facing parts of each step might do it). The cliff face also looks a little bit "off" to me, but it still works: reminds me of "A Link to the Past".
Either way, on the basis of this screenshot alone, I'm subbing your game :-P

@Creation: I love the look you're aiming for with this set, though the angle of the flowers seems a bit off for 3/4 view: they look a little bit too bird's eye in comparison to the rest of the tileset. Apart from that, the only other thing I can think to suggest is making your treeline in the back a little more organic (rather than straight across) .
EDIT: Sorry! I got your name wrong. It's Creation, not Darken.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Thanks to Shinan's brilliant suggestion, I'm scouring the internet for laugh tracks to use in my project. :>
One of these sites might help you :-)
Thinking of decent puzzles to incorporate into my current dungeon. One block push, because they're easy, but I also want to think of something outside-the-box.
The Rare/Obscure RM Games Request Topic
Looking for the RMXP game "Crepusculum" by CERU. It was a survival horror game in the vein of "Silent Hill". I can find information on it online, but can't find a valid download anymore.
Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
Working on spriting a monkey corpse for reasons that will eventually be clear.

That, and level designing a dungeon. Even though the game I'm working on is a clear-cut RPG, this level has some horror elements. Should be fun :-)

@Craze: Loving the muted palette on your world map. RMVX's standard world tileset is pretty good as-is, but I find the colours are a bit loud.
@Coci: I like this idea (and the moving of what I'm assuming is the TP bar to the right-hand side of the portraits). It probably goes without saying, but adjusting the font size for the battle text would go a long way towards de-cluttering it

Nothing fancy. These are some screens from my first RMVX Ace project, "Glass".

The Contemporary Touch: Traditional RPGs for a New Generation
A lot of the suggestions I would have made have already put forward, so I'll stick with a simple one: a fresh story with unique, well-developed characters. Perhaps making your characters a teensy bit genre savvy? And please, no motiveless ultimate evils who want to destroy the world for no apparent reason.
What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
At the moment, I'm wondering how to write the main character's friend so that she's likeable. I've played quite a few RPGs in the past in which I (Lensky) hated characters that my in-game persona was supposed to be friends with. I don't want that to happen.
Ao Oni - a puzzle/horror game made with RMXP

The Oni stares into your soul...
I read about this on TIGsource a little while ago and decided to give it a try, and I was really quite impressed. Excellent puzzles and gameplay very much like the "Clocktower" series. Just thought I'd share a link here, since I didn't notice any other mention of it on the forums.
