Advice, anyone?

If you're looking to show off anything other than the graphics, a video trailer would certainly work better than screenshots. Keep it short - maybe two to three minutes - and people will watch it.
It might be good to have a longer video also that shows the game in more depth, for people who see the short trailer and are somewhat interested but aren't sold yet.
If you just don't know how/where to advertise, I'm not gonna be much help. I don't know either.

Another good way to get noticed is to involve yourself with the community. Go to the forums and share your opinions and learn from others in the various topics about game design, reach out to people and try to help them in any way you can, play their games and give them feedback... Eventually some of that will come your way.
