Hello, been playing through your game.
Had several issues with the demo.

This appears twice a minor thing.

At the naming screen the -> arrow doesn't do anything so I have to hit space to move on.

I don't know if you can do anything about this but...

It's possible to get a she-slime right when you get out of the castle.
This isn't too big a deal, but they can kill you in 2 hits at that point once you learn you just have to stick to the town with the stick until level 2.
Also the stick and cloth are not already equipped.(seems a bit arbitrary for them not to be? Does it have to do with stats when you first start?)

Adventure log II & III don't save. I checked with a church later on and it does the same.

I lost some progress later on because of this once I grinded for the bronze sword to cut through the monsters without effort and encountered a bug with reading a book in of zome guy named xen (or was it zen?) that caused the game to crash like so.

Back to grinding to level 1 for that sword I suppose.



Currently working on these bugs, seems some of them are timer based and some are just silly on my part. Like killing an enemy twice, I had that happen once during a playthrough and I guess I need to put in some wait operations for further stability. Thank you for taking time to give feedback, issues should be resolved by midweek or Friday.

Oh, no... Oh, honey, no... Submissions take significantly longer than an hour, usually. They can take up to a week.

That was before I went with submissions. I thought I was going to put it on Box or Google Drive...guess I should do that then, lol.

Edit: Oh, yeah I guess you misunderstood me. The Demo is available to download now. By an hour, I meant that's how long it would take for my internet to upload the game...yes it's slow. lol.

Shouldn't have to wait too much longer to play the demo. I'm aiming for the 20th. I'm just going through, cleaning up files, and ironing out some bugs/typos at the moment.

I'm having some trouble with this. Can anyone help?

Have used DreaMaker before successfully, but it has stopped working.

I now get this error message for certain maps, which stop the DMK files being created:

I got that error as well. What I had to end up doing is taking that specific map data in the editor, and copying and pasting every event into a brand new map, and delete the old one. I couldn't get any feedback from the developer on this issue so I don't know if this is the best route to take but it helped me. No guarantees, but it's worth a shot!

Congrats, I came to check on you to see where you were at this month. I'm happy to see the main game itself is finally finished.

If I were you, I would just release the main game for now while you're doing post-game content as a future update (this is just in case for you if College Life takes over for another few months). That way it will give players something to bite into, and nobody would potentially have to wait another 5-6 months depending for post-game content.

Least that is how I would handle it IMO.

As for coming up for post-game scenarios, I have a few ideas related to DQ2 and DQ3.

1) After the Dragonlord's Defeat, seek out his son and send him down a better path. Find out the truth about the Dragonlord & learn the story of the Dragon Queen many years prior (The Dragon Queen in DQ3).

There is a manga, but I never read it.

2) Fight against Malroth in his supposed fully powered state (while in DQ2 he was in his incomplete form due to the ritual being not fully powered).

3) Destroy Zoma's Phantom to send him back to hell, maybe his throne room from DQ3 is still intact, but heavily damaged. It will be a interesting "What-if?" if the Dragonlord found out about Zoma while he was staying in Charlock Castle, and he needed the Sphere of Light to taint it's power to revive Zoma & control him with the sphere; however due to your efforts you ruined the ritual, and only a phantom of Zoma was able to roam again and thus only half of his power is present & wanting revenge on the decendent & the Dragonlord (though you already destroyed the Dragonlord).

It will be neat to see a few "throwback" floors & including Zoma's Throne Room that opens up next time you go to the castle, but all in a ruined state.

You know, I thought about releasing the game remake itself numerous times but I really want this to be a full 18-20 hour experience including the Plus side of the remake. I will consider it though because I know how waiting this long for a 10 hour game would irk someone. Who knows though.

Those are some interesting scenarios and I might consider doing something to that effect in terms of #1 and #2 but as for #3 that idea has been in the cards for this remake for a while now. Zoma's phantom will play a role in the post game. I also wanted to do a Final Fantasy Tribute with a Final Fantasy styled mini world and Final Fantasy styled battles and music (in the Dragon Quest DS soundfont I created). As a matter of fact, here's a sneak peek of its progression:



But that's all I'll show lol. It's also a bit more work to make this without the built in engine but I feel it's more unique.

But back to Zoma, I actually used his maps from 3 for Charlock as a base. But yeah the postgame is going to be where I can fully take control of what goes on in the story and I can't wait to really get into it.

Guess I'm getting my first commercial RPG Maker game. This looks awesome!
