its basically the dread of an extended election campaign where Stephen "Fuck Democracy" Harper is again running as the head of the Conservative party with again a real shot at remaining PM for a 4th term.

My favorite recent "canada is so fucked" that I heard about is that the Canadian navy is now ranked below the MIGHTY NAVAL FLEETS of Malaysia and Bangladesh and now about on par with the DREAD ARMADA of Vietnam! (Maclean's article)
There's also the future of a Canada that threw all their chips into oil which is now trading below $40 USD. We pissed away any sort of tailwind when it was trading ~$100. Don't forget that since bitumen has higher cost to process there's a huge penalty when selling (never mind paying for the solvent to get it to flow). All that's left is our ridiculous housing bubble mired in insane levels of Canadian household debt! Should be
