Why is it that this sentence seems to be correct? I thought that "everything" was always used as a singular. If that is the case, then why shouldn't it be "everything has" instead of "everything have"?

This effing with my mind so much right now. :/

It's because of the "does" that precedes the "everything." It would be "everything has," but in this case it's "everything does have."
