MACSHIFT'S PROFILE

Hello! I'm Mac and I'm new to game-making.
I have a lot of big ideas for games that I'm excited about, but right now I'm focusing on learning the skills needed to do them justice.
To that end, I've been making small practice games and participating in RMN events as I'm able... and I've already made three games!
Stay tuned to see what other weird stuff I come up with.

It Came From the Drain Review
Thank you for the review! You make a good point about the monster being a little too dumb; once you know at least one of the places you can go, the game doesn't feel nearly as challenging.
As for that bug in the basement, I can't believe I missed that! (Actually, I had intended for it to be impossible to get the lighter before that chase.) I'll have to go in and take care of it.
By the way, making the floorboards creak was just something I added for ambience, but now that you mention it, having it influence the monster's awareness of your location would've been cool!

... the single rooms, like the bathroom in the first pic I posted (but also the kitchen) were well made! Anyway not bad!
So glad to read that, given how my first mapping attempts turned out!
It Came From the Drain Review
Thank you for taking the time to play and review my game!
I'm so glad the B-movie inspiration came through, and that the art fit well. In fact I was unsure if I made enough hiding places, or if it was clear through clues which places the player can hide. I definitely don't want to frustrate players with a ton of unavoidable deaths. And mapping is still not my strong suit, so I hope the layout of the house didn't cause too much grief!
As I continue learning, my games are getting more complex, so I'm thinking I should recruit playtesters to help me catch these kinds of things for the next one.
Thank you again--your reviews are always so fun to read, and I find them very fair. You've given me a lot to consider, which can only help me improve.
(Also, thanks for noticing and appreciating the little details!)

Ramina's Birthday Nightmare Review
Wow, thank you so much for your fair and thorough review! I agree with all of your points. As I improve my game-making and time management skills, I hope that my future games will live up to the vision I have for them at the start.
As for a sequel, there are tentative plans for one, which would be more elaborate--and re-playable! I'm going to revisit the idea once I feel experienced enough to pull it off well.
Again, thank you! So glad that you had fun!
