Dissidia Final Fantasy 2: Should there be?
post=201035
so basically youre suggesting Dissidia 2 should be all (or mostly) girls?
I would certainly like to see a stronger female presence for Dissidia 2. Girls can kick ass too, you know.
Dissidia Final Fantasy 2: Should there be?
I don't know much about the first three games of the series, but I have my own ideas of who would fit best:
4: Edge for the heroes. Use Kain's proclivity to be mind-controlled and put him with the villains. It would be epic.
5: Lenna or Faris for the heroes. Gilgamesh hands down for the villains.
6: Celes seems to be a good choice for the heroes. Not sure who the "new" villain from this game would be.
7: Tifa is a good choice, but I can see Vincent being chosen on top of her for the heroes. For the villains, I'd say Jenova.
8: I can see them including Zell, or Rinoa, but I would prefer Quistis. Seifer for the villains.
9: If they're going for the "girlfriend" route, then obviously Dagger/Princess Garnet would be the choice. Otherwise, I think Aramant might be cool. Beatrice for the villains.
10: Yuna could be a choice, but I'd prefer Auron in this slot. Seymour for the villains.
11: Don't know enough about this game to say anything.
12: Bashe and Ashe would be the heroes I'd choose, but I bet SE would go with Vaan and Penello. Vayne and Gabranth would be the villains for this game.
13: I'd have to say Lighting and Snowe would fit the theme of a fighting game best. They'd face-off against Dysely/Bartandilus (or however you spell it) with Cid as the other villain.
I'm assuming that there's going to be two people on each side from each game. I could be surprised.
*Edit: Forget Edge. Use Rosa for FF4. Kain's repressed emotions and his proclivity for being mind controlled for a possibly epic battle with Cecil.

Hello the fellow RPG maker and gamer
Welcome to RMN! Post lots!
Truth be told, I'm very tempted to call you The Mess now.
You can call me Messiah or Messi(I don't really like being called this way though)

Update Notes (9/11/2010)
Reviews seem to half-work now. I recently wrote a review, but submitting it shoved an error page in my face. Then again, since the review is recorded as a pending submission, I'm not sure if it's actually in the queue or no.
Liberty jumps on the LET'S TRY wagon
It's a rather newbish project (poor mapping, random spelling/grammatical errors), so I could definitely use some pointers on Legacy Reborn.

I was actually basing my original idea off of Master Tomika from Legacy Reborn. I might be spoiling the background of the game a bit, but in his quest for power, he inevitably was invaded by the Jade Order. He decided that he was not quite ready to face the Jade Order's full wraith. He wanted more time to gather power. What he did was set up a delayed resurrection spell (or something like that) and essentially waited for the Jade Order to come knocking.
The result of that was a confrontation looked a bit like this:

Poor mapping aside, I think everyone gets the point I'm trying to relay. The question that comes to my mind is: Does this make me an official writer, or what?

I'm just going to throw some ideas out, just for fun.
The opening of the game has a group of heroes slay the a villain. As per custom, the villain has a death speech. During that speech the villain says something to the effect of "You fools. Now that I have died, there is nothing left to stop the incoming catastrophe!" Game fades to black. The player is taken back in time, in control of the villain, tasked to set up The Grand Scheme That Will Work Especially if the Villain Dies. In other words, I think it would be great if the game presented a fiend so amazingly calculating that he/she takes his/her defeat into consideration.
Running with this idea, I think it would also be pretty epic if, once the game goes full circle (you're seeing the opening sequence, only the player knows exactly how the plan is going to work, even with the absence of the fiend), to have the player take control of the heroes after the fiend dies. As the heroes, players are tasked attempt to thwart The Plan. How successful the party is depends on how well the player did in the nigh-mandatory mini-games performed earlier in getting the Plan into motion. How does the player "win" if if both sides are seen? I haven't thought that far ahead. Like I said before, I'm just tossing ideas out just for fun.

So far this project has no direction.
No offense to dezz, but the direction I'm feeling from this thread is "make this for me".
Okay, maybe a little bit of offense was intended...
