I'm embarassed to say that I actually didn't know about that function. And I've been using RPG Makers since RPG Maker 95. Oh dear, I feel stupid.

Extraneous ideas

For my game Everwind I use food items to recover health or mana over time in battles, and potions for instant recovery. Perhaps not very original, but it creates a nice mechanic and adds another tactical element to combat. As well as more standard items to put in chests and shops for variety. :)

Good work on this map. I would advise to smooth the cliff edges at the levels right below the ladders, so it doesn't lok like there's a gap between the grass and the cliff.

I haven't placed them all yet, but quite a few. Maybe 50 throughout the game. You won't have to find them all in order to gain a reward, though. There is a reward for every 10th obelisk. A bit like the scultalas in Ocarina of Time.

Based on the description and features, this sounds awesome. What kind of rewards do you have?

Special gear and "cards" that enhance the playable characters in various ways (skills, stat boosts, etc).
