Personally I like KDS' better but I'm way biased because blue is my favorite color (just look at the gamepage) Also, LWG is right in that your title screen features unique colors, pretty much every other title screen is mainly blue :\
Both are great, and the title screen is only there for about five seconds anyways. Pick the one that you prefer :D

Magic Animations for RM2k3
Auuugh these are so cool! Really nice detail on all of the sprites, also the animation is fluid and easy to follow. You seem to have improved a lot since your earlier animations, I think the pixel art makes it look way cleaner. Will you be compiling and posting them? I would really like to use these if they're public, decent battle animations are really hard to find D:

Sea Scroll
A long, ancient scroll that charts the seas of the world. Surprisingly accurate for such a dated artifact. It precisely marks the coastlines and islands as well as any modern map, however it also charts a rather large, nonexistant island located in the middle of the ocean. It's embellished by detailed sketches of various sea monsters as well as a compass.
Timeline
75 Years Ago : This scroll was found in the ruins of an ancient city located near the coast.
74 Years Ago : After sitting in a lab for a year, scholars were finally allowed to study this scroll more closely. But they had to wear gloves.
70 Years Ago : A grueling study revealed that this document is around 600 years old due to the archaic formations of it's letters.
60 Years Ago : Scholars finally consented to allow the scroll to be put on display in an Archeological Museum.
43 Years Ago : In an endeavor to combat bankruptcy the Museum auctioned off the piece to a wealthy collector for $70,000.
11 Years Ago : The wealthy collector has passed away, leaving his inheritance (and the scroll) to his daughter, Carly.
7 Years Ago : Carly gives the scroll away to a handsome young archaeologist, Tennessee, in an effort to attract his attention.
5 Years Ago : Tennessee and his new wife Carly hire a group of sailors to take them to the location of the nonexistent island.
4 Years Ago : After a failed expedition, the scroll has been returned to a lab for further studying.
Now : Used as a coaster on an inexperienced intern's desk to combat coffee-mug rings.

I'm really enjoying this game so far, it's fun to play and has lots of personality :D Although for some reason, Quintessa's faceset bothered me, I don't even know why D: I edited it a little bit, here it is in case you want it. :)
Despite that I really like this game, specifically the dialogue. It really portrays the characters well, I don't know how you pulled off a pirate dialect so well, I mean it's not even corny. Good job!

@CokiCookie - Heh, the character's names are interesting! Also at ~27 HP per attack that boss fight will probably take forever D: Will the battle background always be black, or is it just not added yet?
@Ocean - I really like the palette you chose, using a shade of grey for your lightest color. Makes things a lot easier on the eyes :> Also you kept the paths simple and un-cluttered, A+ :D
@Shablo5 - I like it a lot, but there are a few issues. Immediately to the left of the house you have these logs under the pine trees, they sort of stick out because they're so desaturated compared to the map. Directly below the house there's a curve in the cliff but the water tile beneath it goes straight. Also, ground beneath the lamppost next to the bridge doesn't have a cliff edge. I really love the detail you put in the riverbed, though. Good job :D
@Creation - My immediate gripe is the text, everything else is so clean cut yet you used aliasing on the font D: It would look a lot better pixellated to match the rest of the scene. The chalk outlines are hilarious for some reason, I love them XD Maybe you could add some detail to the edges of the building like you did with the walls. The character's outfit doesn't really say 'detective' to me, but I guess it works. I dunno, P.I.s traditionally wear darker colors but I like pink too :D
