Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy

Quick, enter the forest and kill the Phase Dragon! UPRC said he was axeing it along with the forest, so kill it while you still can! :P

By the way, I only have one more blue magic spell to teach Ami: Polar Air. Checking the database indicates that it's dropped by an enemy called "Cold Driver", but I've never seen it before. Where exactly are these enemies encountered? Thanks again!

Well, Mt. Ordeals no longer exists on the third world map... or at least it shouldn't as of the update before the last one.

I'm still on version 1.18b, and Mt. Ordeals was still there, just as Mt.-Ordealsy as ever. I remember you saying that you were going to replace it with something else in the third world a while back, but it's still there. Also, defeating Orphan in that version still didn't yield a trophy.

Awesome. So, what about the Phase Dragon (boss of the Forgotten Forest) and the Goliath behemoth (boss of the second trip through Rudra Caverns to get to Cid's Laboratory)? Are they going to be removed, or just moved?

Also, I was a bit saddened to find that the training session with Biggs never made it into the game. I finally did a bit of rummaging through the database, and I found that he does still exist in there, with 13 different levels! Along with a plethora of unused enemies... Do you remember 3 "Horror" enemies by the names of Tsuroc, Xothos, and Krutan?

The Phase Dragon and Goliath are going to be removed, yeah. I think I abandoned Biggs when I knew how the story in Branch would develop. Tsuroc, Xothos, and Krutan were hidden in a chest (I think) in an unused optional location called North Cavern that I took out [just before I finished the game because I thought it was terrible. The location is still there in its entirety with all maps being functional, and its blip is STILL on the mini-map. I should probably fix that!

Nice, thanks for the info! It's always cool to find out more about what could have been.

Also, in Branch Castle in the third world, the scholar is still in the library, acting as if everything is perfectly normal. Could it be his ghost, still lingering, still thinking he's alive and carrying out his job normally?!

I know everyone's said this already, but it really is awesome that you still care enough about the original and its fans enough to continue updating this. That being said, since it looks like a new update is in the works, I thought I would inform you of a couple of bugs that should hopefully be minor and easy fixes.

There are a couple of bugged chests in Mt. Ozma and the underground passage to the Citadel. In Mt. Ozma, out of the two chests containing an Antidote and a Hi-Potion, you can only open one or the other. Same goes for the two chests in the Albrook Passage containing 4 Hi-Potions each.

I think the bug with Cid is still there in the first world after getting the airship, where he appears in Cornelia to take you to the North Lindblum Dock, then he's not there anymore, leaving you stuck in Lindblum. Also, does Falgabard Port carry weapons yet? :P

Also, optional content is good. I love doing optional content. It almost always gives the game a more "complete" experience.

The Graviton Rod, while also another "Easy Mode activator", was very useful in helping me discover the HP levels of bosses. I would take a look at how much damage the "Demi" part dealt, then simply multiply it by 4 to get their HP level, then I would just reset and defeat them normally. That sure beats adding up all the damage you do, then just estimating the neighborhood of the HP.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy

Yep. They're actually available in the accessory shops in Branch and Meksicburg. I tell you, they were a tremendous help when thoroughly exploring and raiding treasures from the dungeons (I've been recording the locations of all the treasures and stuff because I'm that obsessive). Perhaps just a warning would be sufficient? You know, like: "Warning: Equipping this ring is essentially activating "Easy Mode".", or something?

Berserk Rings?! But those things saved me countless valuable minutes when invariably plowing through those generic monsters!

Okay. Ignoring chests and such, here's the route through Lucidgrove Abyss.

Thank you so very much for that. It is also a major help in getting everything there.

Speaking of the Lucidgrove Abyss, I noticed that the monster-in-a-box with 5 Enforcers doesn't give anything. I was just curious if that was intentionally a trap with no rewards, or if you just forgot to add something.

You mean you just left the North Auslen Cave? Then you need to go west, return to Mysidia and speak to the elder.
Ok, I left Auslen Cave, went to Mysidia, spoke to the elder, then went to Mysidia cave like he said. I defeated the enemy blocking the path..but now what? I went back to the town (Mysidia),talked to the elder, but he keeps saying the same thing he said after I agreed to to exterminate the monster. Perhaps I didn't word it properly. My mistake. Kinda typed it in a rush.
So you've already beaten Carbuncle at Mt. Mysidia? Then you need to go east from there, and then north through a desert to Darnecles Castle.
