A game added a week ago already has more comments, followers, etc. than a few of my games combined. That's some serious exposure.

Any Game Jolt users out there? What do you think of it?
Nooooooooo!! Don't leave us!!

I have a GameJolt account, and several completed games posted there. I found the activity level to be lacking compared to here for my games. I haven't really visited there much over the past year and a half, though, so maybe things have improved. I did notice that games can get buried there very quickly.

Oh no, I'm not going anywhere! You'd have to drag me, kicking and screaming, out of RMN!

Many of the LPs I watch usually start off with, "I found this on Game Jolt, so let's check it out!" I was rather stunned at the amount of activity on some of the new games there. For devs looking for exposure, it seems like a good idea.

I don't know how they handle the algorithm for which games get shown when, but when I clicked on the RPG category, one of the first items on the list was a Markiplier fangame with 25 followers. And that game was right next to Seven Mysteries with a massive difference in followers, comments, etc. Then again, refreshing the page gives me the exact same list, so it's certainly not created at random. Hm...

Not sure what to think of this ad revenue thing they've got going on yet. It seems like an interesting idea if you have no copyrighted materials. On the other hand, I always get a little twitchy when money gets involved in games that are supposed to be free. I'll have to look into that further before I comment further on it.

You're magical to me.

Maybe I'll post some games there sometime, for some additional exposure, but RMN is my home :D
Well, when the secret cabal of indie game maker site owners meet, I've chatted with CROS and he's a cool dude. We've even talked about having a closer relationship with GameJolt. Nothing really came of it, though.

I've always been curious too!

Though, is it my understanding that you couldn't post rm2k3 games there? Because it's more often than not the hacked version using some kind of rips?

I'll probably try it if I can get my VX Ace game off the ground in the future, I do believe I have an account there.

Considering Hero's Realm is on that site, I think 2k3 games are okay. Though it's been there since 2009, so maybe the rules have changed. Even if they didn't, the site is supposed to be for free games, so as long as you're not stupid enough to try and SELL it, you might be okay.

Don't quote me on that, though.

It's been a few years now that I first went to gamejolt, probably around the time I was just discovering RMN. I recall when I was getting ready to post my game that it stated you have to own the material and all that. So maybe it's not rm2k3 itself rather than the resources used?

edit: So, I'm looking into it now. Maybe it's changed. I remember it enough to not post anything there for five years because my game had rips and a illegal engine. But i'll edit again if I find something that states otherwise.
