ROWAN'S PROFILE
Rowan
131
I'm just a guy interested in making an RPG. I started using RPG Maker way back in RM2k days. My first game was wiped out when my old CPU crashed so yeah.. I decided to make a new one and have been working on it ever since. I mostly enjoy lurking around the RMN forums but I've decided to become more active in the community. I can be a smart-ass at times, but I'm generally an easy going friendly dude.
P.S: Oh yeah, I'm gay (seriously)

[SCRIPTING] A grammar question that has nothing to do with scripting.
I've been to several sites and still no response for this. Anyway, which of the following sentences are grammatically correct?
As long as I practice running tomorrow, when it isn't raining, I'll have a chance to win the race.
As long as I practice running tomorrow when it isn't raining, I'll have a chance to win the race.
If I practice running tomorrow, when it isn't raining, I'll have a chance to win the race.
If I practice running tomorrow when it isn't raining, I'll have a chance to win the race.
I'm asking this as I'm messing with some old data files that deals with effects and such. For example: If it's XXX turn, when XXX character has "Generic Sword" equipped, that character has a 50% chance to heal HP.

[VX Ace] More than 100 Pictures limit...
So yeah, I'm getting tired of how outdated 2k3 is.
I'd like to use more than 100 pictures at a time in VX Ace... Is there a way to exceed the 100 picture limit in VX Ace via script or .exe hacking?

I return, once again.
I took a long hiatus after the Magi/Strangluv incident, but now I'm back. Nice new site design, btw.
Cooldowns
Cooldowns
According to Wikipedia, Cooldowns are the minimum length of time that the player needs to wait after using an ability before they can use it again. In MMO's (particularly WoW) some of the most powerful abilities usually have a 4 second to whatever minute cooldown. Obviously, these are implemented for balancing reasons; however if used correctly, they offer a great deal of depth in terms of proper ability management. Unfortunately, because of the nature of cooldowns, they're also seen as an essentially forced way to get players to use different moves.
What do you think of using moves with cooldowns outside the MMO world?
For example; what if Ultima, one of FF's most powerful skills, had a 2 turn cooldown? (You cannot use this move during the next 2 turns.)
Emotional Movies
Potential Movie Spoilers on this thread be warned.
Basically a follow up to Corf's Rpg Maker game tear-jerkers thread but with movies instead.
Whether it be from your childhood to now, I'm sure everyone has experienced at least one emotional, touching, and/or sad movie that nearly brought them to tears. Were you one of those kids who cried during Mufasa's death, or the typical tough as nails guy/gal who cried during the end of Titanic but don't want to admit it?
I have a history of being emotionally sensitive during a engaging movie. I use to burst into tears while watching one of my favorite childhood movies, "The Pagemaster", especially during the song "Whenever you Imagine." Nostalgia is a powerful indeed as to this day, I still cannot help but to smile whenever I hear this song.
