How do you go about plotting out combat progression?
Personally I just start testing-and-guessing. I prefer to keep the hitpoints low, I think it adds slightly more depth and strategy to battles, AND it is a lot easier to figure in the other stats.
Also, I have found that most RPGmaker games give me too many spells. It wouldn't be a problem if all of them had a use, but usually one just does more damage then all the others. I think in being more creative with spells, and how much MP they cost, it adds a good bit of depth a lot of battle systems lack.

What are you working on now?
I am back, after a two year break. My game Lessents Story was erased on the family computer, but now at college with my own to work with, I have started mapping again. Working on the first town and area.
Oh, and where is the Screen Shot thread? Someone should start one ASAP! :-)

Discussion on Map Design: Accessibility Vs. Aesthetic Value
I find it annoying if I can't really explore the map well. I'm not going to mention any names, but I know of a few mappers that can map something beautiful to the eye, but you just can't navigate through it, or their is only one path through the map, making it very boring.

Gimme Dungeon Gimmicks
Wind- You could have an outter area, where its like cliffs that ascend to another cave on the side of a mountain, and have the character jump into a gust to get to another side.
Water- Have the character "dive" underwater, and swim under the cave area. Or could have a part where you must somehow freeze a lake to cross, and then have the classic "sliding into a rock" puzzle thing.

WC and SC are both on tv in Korea, and other parts of the world. Not sure how that should affect your choice at all but...
Changing 2k3 Glyphs
Do you mind sharing how you did it? I was wondering this myself, and when you change those glyphs, can you literally put in any icon?
