Game Production Companies
I work alone on my game from A to Z, but I have my testing team composed of 4 people, two of them having worked in professionnal testing. Now, I'm only paying them with cookies, but they don't complain with their wage.
I do sign my team-made stuff with a "company name" or such. Although it's mostly fun and games now, thanks to the fact that I have not yet the need to incorporate the name, we are gradually buying film equipment and looking forward to start a little media company by the end of our studies. Although our website is crappy and what we did so far is amateur-level, it's still a start. I guess you could say it's a way of creating a common basis for our small group, each contributing differently.

What annoys you in a game?
It's annoying when, at the beginning of a game, you have so little money that you can barely go to an inn or get one potion, but by the end of the game you find useless items everywhere and make a fortune when you don't need to spend a copper. I always feel like this is a waste of money and there should be a way to re-invest it or to earn money accordingly...
Also, random encounters that are everywhere. I like to choose when I feel like I want to level up I can and when I have to go from A to B fast I don't have to spend X time carving my way through somewhat worthless enemies to bring item R to Mister L for sidequest T.
I do like sidequests a lot though. I think that sidequests and a dynamic environnemnt make for a fun game.
Mmmmh... another thing now, somebody mentionned it before I think... I find way more enjoyable when items are not generic (sword/shield/helmet/potion/phoenix down/antidote/boss key). Come on! With all the creativity put into a game, one can think of new names or new items. The same goes with states. I don't mind the classic ones (poison stays a classic, in every game), but it's nice to have new ones too. Anobody remembers the mushroomized state in Earthbound? Man, they sure added to the difficulty level!

Your Game Designing Exprience
I first started working on RM2K around 2001. Back then I still used the included ressources to make my games, none of which got very far.
Then I upgraded to RM2K3, but for a reason I can't remember I didn't like it and went back to RM2K.
When RMXP came out, I started working on a bigger game, which is still of some inspiration for my current project. I never finished it though, as I was changing my story all the time and it became a bit of a mess.
I upgraded to RMVX last winter and my project "The Wild Adventures Of Claude Bedard" is going pretty well. I regret changing it from RMXP though, because I find the new ressource system to be a mess - seriously, the limitation on map graphics is ridiculous.
So I'm looking forward to the successor software, but next time I'll be a better judge.
I also modded a few games such as Freelancer and NWN.
