SAILERIUS'S PROFILE

Something happened to me last night when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go. I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky. It was moving irregularly. Suddenly, there was intense light all around. And when I came to, I was home.

What do you think happened to me?
Vacant Sky Vol. 1: Conte...

Hmm, is there a bug with the scroll that's supposed to heal all allies? There's no use animation and nobody gets healed, but the item was still used up.

EDIT: Now I'm stuck on the Nyxes ;_; I can do a bit of damage with the scroll that does holy damage but none of Laine's moves will do more than 10 damage to them.

Quick bit of critique (I'm not far into it yet): In your future games, it would be nice to have some indicator of where you need to go. I'm in the village to the south of Landen now and it took me a fair amount of time to find the elder's house because I couldn't figure out which one it was. There have been a few times now when I've struggled to find the right building, such as the church (I kept scouring the temple in vain) and the pub.

EDIT: Okay, I think I'm stuck in the forest at night. All of the enemies here can kill Pat in one hit and Laine in 2-3. Is there some trick to beating them?

EDIT 2: Another bit of critique. I really, really, really wish party members who get KOed got EXP from encounters because otherwise when you have someone who needs to be levelled up (e.g., Pat) it makes it even harder to catch them up because they're already predisposed to being KOed in battle.

There's a serious problem with this game.

The music is so pretty on some maps that I can't leave.

Thanks for playing! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. We worked ourselves nearly comatose trying to finish it in time.

Ars Harmonia

I hope you enjoy! Version 1.1 is locked in now but whenever we get around to 1.2 (which adds Android support), I'll be able to work in more feedback.

Ars Harmonia

It is a pretty difficult puzzle to solve! The only hint I'll provide is that everything you can interact with (except two of the three posters in High Street) is a key clue to the mystery.

Ars Harmonia

It's admittedly a pretty weird approach and I wasn't sure what people would make of it, but most of the "gameplay" isn't directly acknowledged by the game itself.

In the end, the protagonist expresses her disinterest in solving the true mystery ("the question of why"). The post-credits sequence where she indicates that the question is one only humans are concerned with was meant to indicate that if you want to uncover the mystery, it's on you, the player, to do it, because the protagonist (and therefore, the game itself) would not acknowledge or look into it for you.

My intention was to defy the standard convention of mystery games, which is to just explore every dialog tree and talk to every person until the game tells you the solution. Ars Harmonia's mystery gameplay is on a metagame level, where the clues to the mystery must be sought out and found by the player, but won't be acknowledged by the game itself, and the game provides you with no reward for solving it. You have to deduce what happened yourself, and solving the mystery is its own reward.

EDIT: Still, I'm glad you played it and enjoyed the writing. The game is still very much in a prototype state until we get all the features integrated that we planned for.

Ars Harmonia

There was originally more to the investigation phase, such as more quests and puzzles, but we ran into time constraints and couldn't get them in on time. They'll be included in the final release of the game.

The "investigation" part was relatively boring and uncreative .. it's nice talking with strangers, but you just checked everything and were done.
There are some parts of background-story that remain untouched ..
You might not have found everything. The real mystery of the game is what happened before you arrived, and everything you need to solve it is there. The main plot serves as a tool to provide hints to the true mystery, and it's up to you to solve it.

[C] - The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

You know, every time I've watched this series, I've thought its mechanics would make for an amazing game. I hope you're planning to do it justice and not just throw generic RPG mechanics at it.

Ars Harmonia

Thanks! I hope you enjoy it. We worked incredibly hard on it.
