Game Drive Week 04
In my game, a newly elected government have decided to pull their country out of the cesspool it's found itself in by making major cuts to all welfare benefits, sending a strong message that for too long people have avoided getting jobs because they can live more comfortably on welfare. They've also made cuts to public services, including schools and hospitals.
The nation is divided into two. One the one hand, you have those who feel they've worked hard to earn their money, and they're glad their taxes won't pay for jobless slackers. They simply state that if you want anything in this world you have to work for it and hail it as a new era. When quizzed about the damage to the public education and health services, they simply state that if things get that bad they can always go private.
On the other, you have those who feel that vital monetary lifelines for certain people are being unfairly and cruelly taken away, sparking rage in the lower classes. There is also some unsettlement from those who work low end jobs, who feel they do earn their money but aren't considering important or pretigous enough to have their free education and healthcare they've been entitled to for years.
Riots start to break out as civil unrest peaks, businessmen, government officials, company directors and anyone with a high wage start being attacked and even murdered by the lower classes out of sheer anger. Most of the uprisings are being caused by a single group, rebels parading themselves as a political party. At the head of this party is Dean Wells.
At the beginning of the game your orders are clear "These uprisings and killings began with Dean Wells, they shall die with Dean Wells."

As it turns out later in the game, Dean Wells is simply using the economy as a convenient excuse and has wanted to destabilize the government for years after he discovered they were secretly doing experiments with transgenics. Transgenics is a very real process where scientists take a particular cell from one species and implant it into a young female of another, so that when the female gives birth the child carries that gene permanently. This has been a tool wielded by science fiction writers, and in this story the government have been doing human trials for quite some time. Dean Wells morally disagrees with this and wishes to put an end to it.

@Lennon: I think the bridge isn't helping it. Considering moving the stairs on that side so it has a more angled look to see if is just the bridge makign the track look off.
@Irili: They're two seperate tracks. I just figured they'd slope into and out of the station, like in some areas of London's Underground - which is hard to show in 2D.

Bosses are awesome to make, but you still have to try and make your regular enemies varied, interesting and challenging without making them too deadly or too easy. Very tricky to balance.
Here's a map I've been working on today.
