There is a rare bug in RPG Maker 2000 & 2003 games that's been known to cause save files to corrupt or disappear.
The only warning is that the music will suddenly cut out completely while playing, and if you try to save your game once that happens, your save file either vanishes or becomes unusable.
I've had it happen to me occasionally with other games.
The way to avoid it is to shut down the game completely after you've been playing for awhile, and to be extra safe, make multiple saves frequently, so if one is damaged or goes missing, you'll have the others as backups.

A Utilities Section would be nice...
Since WhoopA's site is gone (which I just noticed) I thought I'd upload his version of RMTool since it is the most current & best version. To my surprise though, RMN does not have a Utilities Section.
So, now I don't know where to upload this:

Seriously though, I tried playing both versions of Monopolo, but once the novelty wore off, playing by myself got rather boring.

Maybe it's supposed to be a bed & breakfast inn?

The missing music files are definitely used in-game.
The missing tileset probably isn't, but is in the database.
Not sure about the backdrops.
And the battle animations are probably not implemented yet, since you mentioned you're currently working on a stealing system
