To be or not to be... commercial?

One idea could be to do both. Steam is not the discoverability machine it once was so I think Cash is right that putting it out in as many places as possible is probably the best bet. And you can always make it commercial in some places and less so in other.

Let's say you put a 5€ pricetag on it on steam. Then you have it on Itch.io with a pay what you want model (with a recommended price of 5€). That could be a way to keep the "prestige" of a commercial game but the availability of a free one.

I think, though this is just speculation, that having a free game of steam is probably not too great for discoverability, since having a price tag means you can discount it and then it will show up in sales lists. While a free game will never do that.

British English speakers of RMN, I need your help! How do I write a 'British' speaking character?

Gosh darn, jolly good old chap!

Fancy a cuppa tea?

super long mega friendship post

Except that a printed tee costs about 50 (that's possibly an exaggeration) to make so there's... Well. The advertising wouldn't be free, in fact it wouldn't help the actual product any.

Now if the KS was all about tees then yeah.

The Anti-Climbing Paint Saga: The End Days

I would say throw up a link to the "official" site/blog of the game, leave the gamepage up for a while so all subscribers get the new link and then anti-climb the page.

However unlike the free rmn games you are allowed to make an ad post about it on the video games forum once it is finished.

I would strongly suggest you get a proper site/blog for it though and not just a forum thread. Of course I don't know how far off a release is.

new and professional installation method

It was a spambot. I removed the post.

Making the Graphics of Faery Tale

Man I dig this. This is a really nice look at the behind the scenes.

Game Music Brasil 2011

I'm speechless. I'd like to make some kind of comment to the effect of "good job, this is pretty sweet."

But it's so much beyond that!

You're like a proper gaming celebrity! (almost, sort of, not really)

A few ideas to float to the surface.

I always like a bit of War is a Shitty Thing. In what ways is this going to be conveyed?

Also one of the mythical beasts better be a big northern pike.

The fire always burns

I would not have minded direct links to the project pages on both Meridian and Dreamincode. Because I can't really find anything (especially on dreamincode, that site is probably what RMN4 seems like at first glance!).
