You did a great job! This thing is great source of writing ideas!
But one bad thing - it uses only ONE storyline template.
I mean, "One day friend disappeared - enemy turned out to be new friend - together they will find out all the stuff obout it".
I understand, how many work it takes, but do you have any plans about make something like this, but much more randomize-oriented? With more unpredictible results?

Dragoon Legacy
I'm not sure if I'm one to talk but I'm also trying to do a retro RPG using some editted Final Fantasy sprites but with the RTP chipsets. Try not to make your game a Blackmoon Prophecy ripoff. If you want original music, then you should find some soundfonts (Setzer's is a good one)and download SynthFont. Facesets though are the hardest to get though if you want original characters.
