What is your current weight, and where do you want to be later on?
post=151628
Size: 174 centimetres (5'9'' feet)
Currently: 77 Kilograms (170 lbs., American)
Records: 85 kg/187 lbs. ; 59 kg/130 lbs.
I should't gain more and I don't, because the only things I eat are efficient things and no sugar (except that one in fruits).
Edit: Steroids are for pussies.
You can always gain more at your ratio. 170 for 5'9'' is not that much.

Gameplay is the only thing that matters
To me gameplay is pretty much the basis of a game(play). I always play a game for an experience, for the story, music, graphics, etc. Everything but the gameplay. But fact is, if the gameplay sucks, no matter what about the rest, I WILL quit the game. I don't want my experience of a game to be tedious because it's unbalanced.
I remember reading about a game ealier this year, people telling the story was great, graphic, characters, etc. When I played the game, controls where horrible, the shortcut could not be changed and were the worst I've ever seen, and the fight were long and boring. First time I saw a NPC, I try to attack him for fun, to test the game, he 2 shot me with a fucking club (you're a guy in armor, shield and sword), and you don't even scratch more than 1/100 of his life. That's a fucking lame game, no matter what the story is.

Program to create text-adventure game
Title says it all. Actually I know that with simple coding I could do it... but fact is, I don't know any kind of coding. So the question could also be :
Simple tutorial with a simple form of code that could help me do that.

On Story Structure
Taken from Wikipedia on Campbell work on comparative religion and myth :
''The hero starts in the ordinary world, and receives a call to enter an unusual world of strange powers and events (a call to adventure). If the hero accepts the call to enter this strange world, the hero must face tasks and trials (a road of trials), and may have to face these trials alone, or may have assistance. At its most intense, the hero must survive a severe challenge, often with help earned along the journey. If the hero survives, the hero may achieve a great gift (the goal or "boon"), which often results in the discovery of important self-knowledge. The hero must then decide whether to return with this boon (the return to the ordinary world), often facing challenges on the return journey. If the hero is successful in returning, the boon or gift may be used to improve the world (the application of the boon).
Very few myths contain all of these stages - some myths contain many of the stages, while others contain only a few; some myths may have as a focus only one of the stages, while other myths may deal with the stages in a somewhat different order. These stages may be organized in a number of ways, including division into three sections: Departure (sometimes called Separation), Initiation and Return. "Departure" deals with the hero venturing forth on the quest, "Initiation" deals with the hero's various adventures along the way, and "Return" deals with the hero's return home with knowledge and powers acquired on the journey.
The classic examples of the monomyth relied upon by Campbell and other scholars include the stories of Osiris, Prometheus, the Buddha, Moses, and Christ, although Campbell cites many other classic myths from many cultures which rely upon this basic structure.''

Check that picture, take a game or a movie that is famous, like Final Fantasy VII or Star Wars, and you'll see that even if there is minor details that may add something, it follow up that pattern.
I'm not saying to use that pattern, but invariably, most of the myth invented by humans follow this pattern. So if you don't want to write shit because you don't know how to write decent story structure, well follow the pattern, at least you'll have something that human subconscience will recognize.

Music hint : how to make midi mp3 file
Hi everyone,
I need a good program to import midi to mp3. It can be easy-mode (like a click or two) or need some configuration/reconstruction/recomposition of the song. I just want something good that doesn't need me to recreate the entire song.
Thanks.

Challenge versus Frustration
Difficulty versus challenge is a tough one. I ask you this :
In my mass effect game, I'm at insane difficulty (last one in the game). Basicly, if you get hit by a sniper weapon, you are dead, one shot (for half of the game or most). So the strategy is to peek for .5 seconds, shot the guy for 1/5 of his life, and cover again.
Is this really a challenge or an invitation to use bugged AI technique in order to avoid overgrown stats of monster ?
To me, challenge would have put more monsters and better AI, not just x10 HP and x10 dmg.
Btw I'm not ranting about the game, just about the insanity difficulty level. Rest of the game is insanly good.
