I can't even remember why I did that.

8 directional movement [rm2k3]

I used 8 directional movement for some mini-games in my game and it seemed to work pretty good! The only times it get clunky was when there was a lot of other events running simultaneously. This is the code I used:



Set as a parallel process in Common Events. The key inputs represent the Arrow key so "dirdown" is Down Key, "dirleft" is Left Key, etc.

Astral Conjunction

Just finished this. Took me about six or seven tries to beat the whole thing, the last four or so tries dying at the hands of the last boss. I'm slightly accustomed with bullet hell games so this wasn't frustratingly difficult for me but it will be for players unaccustomed to this type of shooter. For my last try, I really tried to not lose any continues before that last boss. Because that guy doesn't mess around! I lost like two continues trying to beat him, but I beat him. I expected it to be longer, have more power-ups, enemy formations and have more of an ending but then I realized it's a 2-week game, so yeah.

Here's a tip: keep on the top half of the screen. You will knock out the toughest enemies quicker this way and they just shoot downward, so there's no way for them to kill you once they've floated past you.
