Release Something! Day VII: Advent Children [June 20th]

Man, I am going to feel ashamed of myself after saying this, but...

I am out of "Release Something VII", the few people I need to help me finish this have gone away for a while due to personal issues, they haven't given me a set date but it is more than likely after June 20th, plus the lack of finding a composer has made it seem even more bleak.

They may (a big may) come back before RSVII, but for now I am out. :'(

What would YOU want to see in FFV-II?

It would also be good if you could put the name of the character the job would be designated to. :)

Everybody, or it's not FFV.

We have already came up with new jobs which are usable with any character, but I was thinking maybe different characters could have unique ones. Coming up with a job idea for every character would be okay too though. :)

EDIT: Changed first port to reflect this.

What would YOU want to see in FFV-II?

Since my forum only has a few members, I thought it would be a good idea to post this on RMN.

What would you like to see in FFV-II? It can be anything from certain things you liked in other Final Fantasy games, to extras that can be played after the main story.

Job ideas are also welcome, but detail would be very helpful if you have an idea for a job. If you think the job would only work/look sensible for one character, please say so.. :)

Here is a job template you could use if you have an idea:

Can use:
Stats:
Default Ability: (Can be left blank if the job hasn't got one)
Innate Abilities: (Passive abilities: An ability tht is always active)

ABP to Master:

Level 1:

(Repeat with Level 2, level 3 etc until Master)

Dude, copy-paste the OP into a text document.

Then it can be your gamepage in RMN3.

Good idea. -DONE-

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll post more info on the project after RMN3 is implemented.

How do YOU balance YOUR monsters?

What I've been doing with FFV-II, is giving different people different builds of a demo; all of them have different set jobs on the characters with colloseum-like battle scenarios, all of them having the same enemies.

They tell me what they noticed about the jobs stat wise against the enemies and how easy/hard it was to defeat them, and was the skills/weapons the monsters were weak against effective when killing them.

This also helps me figure out how to keep battles interesting, as I can add different things which can be used to do stuff like exploit the monsters weakness by not just element, but by what TYPE if skill as well (say for instance some flying monster can be weak against certain long range weapons).

It's a strange process, but it helps to equal the stats out. When I say "equal", I just mean giving the right stat boosts to each job.

They also give me details on exp on the distribution, but I can figure that out myself.

As long as it's got an awesome story I'm up for it, but then again FFV was all about the class system wasn't it? Oh well, looking forward to playing this anyway :-)

Can't have a good RPG without a good storyline. :D
Sure you can! Take FFV for example. Solid gameplay more than made up for a weak storyline, cheesy dialog, and boring characters.

K.O

I decided to make the page look a bit more eye-catching (even though it is going to be gone in a few days), I hope you like it.

Credit goes to Nich for the 16 year old Krile. :)

Wow, I left this kind of late.

That halo is hilarious

Also I hope you're going to stick with one name translation (suggestion: Stick with the FF5 Advance translation, it beats the shit out of its predecessors)

The halo on the Paladin will make sense once you have gotten through a certain part of the story (where the Paladin actually becomes accessible). Also our spriter thought it sort of made sense, since the Dark Knight has horns, representing the darker side of Bartz.

We are going to stick with one translation for the game, and yes, the FFV Advance translation is the one we are going to use. The only reason why I used both in the story was to make sure everyone knew who I was talking about.

I really am not liking the new menu at the moment :(. I dunno, I just don't like question marks as commands :l. Other than that, looks nice :)

The question marks are only there until a certain part of the story. Hopefully you will like it after you see what is behind the question marks. :)

ANIMU HAS RUINED MY FAVORITE BOOK

In Japan, anything goes.

Oh wow, also done by Gonzo.

EDIT: According to the anime, over a million swordfights ensued.

EDIT2: ...DRAGONS!?

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

After the Mana Khemia craze I started playing Atelier Iris 3, fun game... I heard a rumor the game freezes, I hope that isn't true. :(

Sadly it's true, it may freeze at the start of some events in the NTSC version, so you will have to reset and try your luck again. :(

Anyway, currently playing Megaman X8, Final Fantasy IX and Atelier Iris 3.

Kirby can make anything feel worthless

It's not really supposed to be funny, it just caught me off-guard.
