Wow, I'm really the first person to comment on this? I guess love for smbx has gone way down recently. It's still one of my favorite types of games to play. Other games are hit and miss, but I always have fun playing a mario game. And this is one of the best I've played so far.

The level design is always great. Not unfairly hard but challenging in some spots, and downright fun in others. The custom graphics are well done. I've seen a lot of tiles that I haven't seen in other games. Everything fits together so well and all stages make use of all space in a very pleasing way.

There is a strange, really long, delay between stages. It seems to hang for about 10-15 seconds on every black screen. A little annoying but I suffered through it.

If I had to rank it now, I'd give it 4.5 stars.

I'll add my videos as media later, when I finish more of the game, but here's what I have so far.

Strafing is when you attack and then move while your sword is out, pretty hard to not get working. It's fine if don't want to use it, but because of the way 2k3 handles hit detection it is recommended. For the harder stuff you would probably need it. Plus it keeps you facing a certain way so if projectiles are coming at you it will be easier to block.

Yeah, I recall that bug where you would get hit and during that invincibility time if you got hit again, it would register the second hit the moment you stopped being invincible. I'm pretty sure I fixed that already. Hopefully you didn't encounter something else.

There isn't much of anything after the dungeon that requires the key to enter. I believe there is a triforce piece in the dungeon, but after you do everything in there there is a spot on the west side of the overworld where you can get all the items in the game to try out. You need to burn red bushes to access it. You should check out the older version 3 demo for more content. There's a few things in v3 that you won't see in v4, like dark caves and more overworld puzzles.

The monster food is probably pointless haha And a room of walls? Is that in the same mini dungeon as the monster food? Where there's a key on far left side? You need to push blocks in that room. That's as far as Waka got in the Let's Play he just added.

No, there is no way to break trees. Just burning bushes.

Fight the black mage with something other than your wooden sword. There should be a new sword in the dungeon but at least there is the red candle, which you can use to damage enemies. It's stronger than the wooden sword.

:) If you didn't play this latest version, v4, then it will be VERY different.

Even the current build I have on my PC is very different. It has the proper teleporting event, enemy attack patterns are finished, has some mode 7 effects, and um...probably other things I'm forgetting. A bunch of stuff in the menu probably.

haha I didn't take it as an insult or anything. Your explanation sounds much better. I suppose that is what I do. I don't follow any topics so I can't joke about them and there's no purpose to anything I do, so.. xD
