Getting the message "the RGSS player has stopped working"

Anyone else got this message or just me.
I'm having trouble finding how to correct this.
Saw a post on the internet but it seems involved and I'm not
all that computer savi? also, I just got a new Dell XPS8700 with Windows 8.1 and God help me...it windows is a b.... to figure out :)

Have you tried again a few times? I get this error sometimes when I play test my games in VX Ace on Windows 8. It randomly happens. Sometimes I even have to go into the task manager and delete the RGSS process cause it's still running.

Orange text on a white bg doesn't work so well.

So I finally got around to playing this. The art is awesome, but frankly the gameplay is crap. I think I had the old version, without easy mode, but even if it was a bit easier that wouldn't change how I feel about the gameplay. It's just not fun. There are probably dozens of monsters and I don't feel like spending 10 turns dying just figure out it's pattern. And then if I die on the next monster, I have to go through the first ones again I believe(I didn't play long). So I'd either have to have an eidetic memory or write them all down. Very few games that require note taking are fun :/ This is a manifestation of the worst feature of games, RNG. I beat one monster(by pure luck), and died about 7 times. I will never play this again as long as RPS is the main gameplay element.

It's too bad that you spent so much time on all that art, and very few people will ever see it. You really should get rid of the whole RPS thing and do something different so that this art can be liberated from the confines of a bad idea. /brutalhonesty

To my knowledge, the blocks fall from relatively random positions and at a fast rate from the ceiling, making the situation a little more of a result of bad luck rather than an error in playstyle. As the game in general is arcade-hard, though, I'll cut you some slack. It only happened to me once, anyway.
What exactly is the alternative? An algorithm that detects if a falling block would create a trap? That doesn't sound feasible.

It is an error in your play style, because you need to be aware of your position and avoid those areas. The blocks don't fall so fast that a house can be built around you before you have a chance to move.

In regards to the wall-jumping, it just comes off as a weird inconsistency to me. Like, you can wall jump from ICE yet you can't on beams? Even an infinitely long column of butter would have been a bit more convincing. Also, considering the above points in regards how those blocks fall... I really don't think it would make the game THAT easy. Or hell... You'd know how this game works better than I would!
Breasts fall from the sky. I think we can suspend logic for a little while. Ice also doesn't instantly melt when you touch it.

You get score from reaching new heights in the level. If you could get height from wall jumping it would be a cheap way to get score and the method to getting high score would be boring and circumvent the whole concept of the game.

Hmm, interesting. Once you hit around 100k, the game changes drastically. It actually becomes REALLY EASY xD Getting those 200k+ scores seems like a much less impressive feat now! (if you have quick reflexes)

The key is to keep moving and memorize the timing of blocks falling and jump when they fall. Also, stay near a ledge of a high up block so you can easily walk off the ledge to safety. Never stand in the middle of any flat surface. Oh, and stay near the bottom of the stage as much as possible.
