Disable things one by one until it stops lagging. Examine what you turned off.
You could then try disabling different events to see the result.
You might find one that has a code error, no wait, or something looping that shouldn't. Or it might be that you reached some data threshold, where you are simply doing too much.
But ya, first try it on multiple computers to be sure.
You could maybe add proximity detection and only run animation events that are close enough to the hero to even be visible on screen. It would cut down on needless processing.

I got it working for one object, but I'm trying to make it so you can easily copy and paste it for endless pushing objects without much code. It shouldn't be hard but I'll finish it up tomorrow. Already spent several hours on this heh It's a good exercise though. I will end up using it for my game, too, and I'll submit it as a tutorial. So I'll profit off this heh
