RM2k3 - Subject: Math - Question: Please help me understand why this formula works!
Yeah, that's what I heard it does. I just don't see how it translates into giving the single digit. Then there's division command at the end. What's that for?
RM2k3 - Subject: Math - Question: Please help me understand why this formula works!
So I have this code from a tutorial and I've always wondered why it works. It's a very useful code and I feel that if I understood it maybe it will help with something else. I'm sure it's just simple math but I don't think I could just figure it out myself by writing it out. Would anyone care to explain? :)
Var Oper: (v112) Set, Var (121)
Var Oper: (v112) Mod, 10
Var Oper: (v113) Set, Var (121)
Var Oper: (v113) Mod, 100
Var Oper: (v114) Set, Var (121)
Var Oper: (v114) Mod, 1000
Var Oper: (v114) Divide, 100
So it takes a three digit variable and splits it into 3 single digit variables. I think the reason I don't understand it is because I'm not entirely sure what the Modulus command does. I heard the definition but I still dunno xD
Thanks!

8 bit Megaman sounds

It seems overly complicated xD Here's a quote from it:
"The most crucial is that you have a knowledge of 6502 assembly
language"
That's one option down.
You could find them online; I tried myself with no success and we're not going to find anything you couldnt find yourself. It's possible to come across a random site that hosts resources and find a few MM sfx but it seems like they are pretty rare and your looking for a pretty specific one in your example so that makes it even tougher.
Maybe somebody will happen across this thread and happen to have just what your looking for... heh I doubt it.
No, sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands and do it yourself. I have a suggestion that might work. Get the emulators and roms(legally blah blah blah...;) Go into the settings and turn off the music channel only. Play the game to the point where your sound is played. Then use an external program to record whatever is playing through your sound card (the megaman sounds) and you should have a .wav file of what you need. Trim it up and roll it out. I guess that would be considered 'ripping' but less technical.
Hope that helps!

Quest Script
Your basically asking someone to do all the busy-work you don't want to do.

I google'd "quest log in rpg maker xp" and this was the second one. Your not supposed to press "I'm feeling lucky" then give up if you don't find your answer.

Custom EXP System (RM2k3)
The leveling system in FFxi is one that sounds like what your talking about.
To get the most EXP from a kill you have to defeat something of a higher level than you. As your level begins to match that of the monster you get less EXP. Eventually you will get no EXP from a monster. There is no "pool" of EXP, once you gain a level your EXP is 0(+ whatever is left over from the kill) and then your goal for the next level is raised by a few hundred.
Is this what your trying to do? If you could be specific about something your trying to accomplish I could toss some ideas around. Like how to create the branches to compare levels and alter the EXP gained.

I would actually suggest removing a layer off the top so it's flush with the edge of the cliff but leave it the way it is at the bottom. Just like the ramp on the right side.
It looks ok as is though.

Fable of Heroes I: Legendary Edition
Even though it's RTP I'll download. The maps look good enough.
*played for a bit*
First impressions. It is what you stated, a simple RPG. Decent use of the RTP. I like some of the minor details(exiting the forest in a different place than when you entered). Rooms have stuff scattered about which is good, but places like the weapon shop could have used more stuff.
Now, I havn't played many RM2000 games so maybe I'm just not used to it but the slow movement speed makes me not want to explore a room and just head right for the exit. I found a few hidden objects in jars but I probably skipped even more. At least the maps are relatively small so it could be worse ^.^;
I only played into the second town. I stopped after talking to everybody and unneccisarily sleeping at the inn xD (because I thought it would advance the story). The game is not terrible, however I cannot get past the RTP graphics. It's just my personal preference. If this game had a different chipset I would put some more time into it as it was the only thing that turned me off.
With so many RM games it would take something unique to make me want to put an extended amount of time into. You seem to have the skills needed to make a not-terrible game :)
*edit: OH YEAH I forgot about the one thing I didn't like and maybe I was just missing something but...I couldn't see my Status screen or know anything about my experience points.
