Thanks Despain. Since I'm new here and stuff I wanted a recommended source of sprites and such.
Also I'm reading/ going to use something called The beginners guide to RPGMAKER VX
By BenKo from 2008.
It'd seems to be a good material for me to use for a practice project as it takes you step by step to making an rpg and such. A small one though

I never really got into hocky as I never knew when it aired. Plus sitting alone is kind of boring sports are more of a social event.

Hello I'm new to the fourm's
Thanks I was wondering how do people think of funny RPG's I wanted to make something absurd originally. It was the misadventures of me and m school mates and stuff. I had some video game references and such wanting Robo from CT to run a danceclub in the desert.
I was just wondering. Since I've never completed a game yet will I get good constructive critical feedback from most users. I don't know all the in's and outs of RPGMVX so I'm hoping if I submit something I won't get yelled out due to a flaw I had.

How do you make sprites?
Should this be a stickied? It seems very helpful.
Hey I need some help here I want to use shredder in my game but the problem is him and krang
( baddy from TMNT) are TOO big for the chai boxy thingy.
Can I get a larger box like the monsters or how does this work. Krang is now two separate bod parts no and stuff.
Oh also my game seems to make my sprite super tiny or the world is a bit big can I zoom in so I show more detail in my sprite while a person is playing.
To not make my sprites a complete rip off I am making them more like their franchise canon designs krang Recolored. Samus is a bit more modern, umm link is.
He hasn't changed not much to fix.
So do you guys do this say for instance you want to use an old game boy sprite will you color it sometimes or such what do you do with your characters?

Short games, yay or nay?
I think that it all depends on the game you are making. If it's an adventure game it can be as short as Wither or TA Captain Skull. Yet usually rpgs need a plenty of depth. Though it all depends on what the focus is I want to make a funny game mainly a game that's short yet not too short. Yet If I wanted to I could make it long. yet that takes far more time commitment and skill.
So It's pretty much up to the creator game length doesn't matter I like short games since they are like short stories and sometimes some of the greatest stories ever weren't even that long.
Challenge: someone make "The most Dangerous game" Adventure game. I'd love to see that. It's be short though and creepy.

RPG Maker VX or XP?

As a person who only tried VX, which program is far more user friendly?
Say for instance I want a larger character sprite say from Chrono trigger in my game. I can't to my knowledge use anything other than square characters in VX. Does Xp offer more support for such things?
I'd have to say VX would likely be the more user friendly one though.
My problem was that I couldn't ever get robo to fit It was my in-experience really. I wouldn't mind trying the old versions and console versions as they all have charm. The also each have their own characters and such. Though is there something you can't do in xp that vx has or vice versa?
