That's very... different. I suppose that means it's entirely possible that the Deputy role exists.
I figured I might as well explore this a little more. Even if you can prove you're a historian, Natook, how can you prove you aren't a villain? It's still possible for you to be both, and not very unlikely at all. It almost seemed like you were sidestepping when you offered to prove your innocence (especially since it was your idea).

Yeah I managed to beat the zealots and I'm fighting Beldr now. I'm putting up a fight, but his minions always get me. I'm doing some free battling to try and get some macca for some better demons to fuse. I could get a level 22 King Frost, but I'd be giving up a good Orcus and a kind-of-alright Yuki Jyorou...
I take back what I said. Elemental weaknesses are life and death. This game is really making me think more now, and it's getting even better. This game has more strategic depth than any SRPG I've yet played. I love it.
EDIT: Fucking Beldr and his fucking cait siths. Fuck.

The thinking of "oh, he's neutral, he shouldn't care if he's dead" is just silly to me.
It's not that you shouldn't care if you're dead, it's that we shouldn't care. The way I see it, there are two possibilities.
A: The anonymous sender of the message is a villain. They're lying about the Deputy role and, believing Natook to be a hero since they know you're not a villain, are trying to get us to lynch him. (This would probably have lead to Chaos' lynching too, since he'd be very suspicious at that point.) This seems unlikely; if it's true, this mystery role's only real ability is sending a message that can say anything. If that is exactly what it is, then they're being very creative with it, but it seems far too elaborate.
B: The Deputy role is real, and the sender of the message received Natook's name as the identity of a villain. This means that he's definitely scum. To try and shake off suspicion, he's lying about being a survivor. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this checks out.
Now, if we lynch him and he's a villain, then that's great. If we lynch him and he's a survivor, then that's only a minor setback.

Well, I would think that Font's posting for the sake of posting, but he's attaching votes to them so he's actually being useful to some degree. It'd be hasty to accuse him of being scum, but he definitely is suspicious.
Now about Natook being a survivor. I'm not entirely convinced. If the Deputy is given the identity of one mafia member, I find it very hard to believe that the mod would identify a Survivor as Mafia. Still, there's no guarantee that the Deputy role even exists (even if there's no record of it on any wikis or anything, Tonfa could very well have made it up for this game). The sender of the message could be lying. I still don't trust Natook 100%, but I'm willing to trust him at least for the time being.

post=84858I know there are exotic roles that show up as different things during investigation, but the Deputy role, if it's real, starts off knowing the identity of one mafia member, not knowing one person who would show up as mafia during investigation. I'm pretty sure Natook is a villain, but there's a chance that he's innocent, so if anyone else has any leads, then we should discuss those as well.
Thats the thing though, Natook could be a miller, or vigiliante. Showing up as an enemy when he is really trying to help us. Take Chaos's role for example. He was a suicide bomber. Meaning we can expect more exotic roles this time around. Is it really worth killing him off yet?
