Just started making these little guy. Imagine a ninja head with legs. Haven't made any revisions or anything yet, and I'm at work so I can't animate him at the moment... so I have no idea how he'll look walking just yet, but I'm pretty sure that the walk animation will be god awful.

But design-wise, does he look okay? Like as a platformer character? Think something like Mario, jumping all over the place and such.
I haven't tried to sprite a anything that I planned on using for a platformer before, so this is a first attempt. It's also 4:00 AM, so I'm probably not at my best.
Is it a decent start, at least?

So I have this idea for a platformer...
Well, I've played around with this idea more to make it less Kirby-esque and I think I have some decent ideas.
How much practice is required with GameMaker before one can usually make a "decent" platformer? I've played with it a few times and found out pretty easily how to make a character and add controls to move them, but that's as far as I've ever gone. I always lose interest really quickly, but since platformers are my favourite kind of game... I really do want to stick with the damn thing.
Is there an online tutorial that is good at walking you through the steps to make very basic platformers and such?

Other searches that I just conducted said the same thing, to try changing the audio codec that you're using.

Yeah, I've never had any problem like that when I record so I can't offer any explanation. On the bright side, it's not such a big deal when the maker of the game is watching since they're likely to know what you're making references.

Awesome. It actually helps a lot to watch somebody playing and hearing their comments as opposed to just reading feedback online. Your audio is slightly out of sync most of the time (seems to be 3-4 seconds ahead of the video) but I can still follow everything. Good work!
What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I've been playing Bejeweled 3. It's nothing revolutionary, but PopCap added just enough new features and such for Bejeweled to feel really fun again. The new game modes are pretty cool, too.
Super Street Fighter 4 gets a 3rd Strike
I bought an assload of DLC for SSF4 and then never bothered to check it out. I also haven't played the game for more than five minutes in several months.
I think I may as well just flush my money down the toilet at this point. At least it will actually go somewhere.
