Character Introductions - Short and sweet or explanatory?

As long as it's not a Dwarf Fortress character explanation it's fine.

I have recently become addicted to Minecraft... That's the main thing I've been playing for the past week and a half.
Heh, that game is like crack when you have an idea what to build.

I must agree... It really is... Is there like, a Minecraft Rehab?

Movie Suggestions...

I've never really watched many foreign movies, so naturally, I don't have any to suggest. I do however have a great movie that I saw recently to suggest.
It's called "Inception". Now, that article says it's a Sci-Fi movie. But that's not really what I was thinking of it as when I was watching it. Although parts of it are unrealistic, maybe even futuristic, I would'nt have thought of it as a Sci-Fi.
That description can also be sort of misleading. Basically, the movie is about this group of people who develop a machine that allows them to engineer a dream and bring others into it, or enter another's dream. They use this to put ideas into people's heads, and try to affect things that happen in real life.
Overall, I thought It was an amazing movie. I hope you try it, and if you do, I hope you enjoy it.
Also, a quick note. In that article it has a plot section. I would suggest not reading that unless you want the storyline pretty much revealed to you. If you don't care, then go for it!

What are you currently reading?

I read the first four books of the "Harry Potter" series like 3 years ago, so now I have decided to pick up with the 5th one...

Legionwood: Tale Of The Two Swords

Emo Require: Do RPGs need a story?

Oh, and there's also the issue of RPG battle systems usually being the worst (boring + tedious) part of the game. Discard all the other parts and you're left with a game that's as fun as a visit to the dentist.

Although I agree that most battle systems are extremely boring... He did bring up the point that you would be able to spend more time on the battle-system as you would have extra time from not creating a storyline. This could make it very complex and interesting, and could actually make a fun game all by itself.

[EVENT] Community project: Super RMN RPG VX

I already used up my trial time on VX and I'm not really interested in buying it right now since my main power is XP. Otherwise I would probably be interested.
However, one thing I don't understand is why you aren't handing out more switches or variables. You could hand out 200 to each member and still have PLENTY left over...

Pixel Movement in RPG Maker 2003?

Just a theory: Charset tricks. Using the CharExpand-Patch (for 2k only), you can use bigger charsets. So you can create 256 different charsets for the hero (you could write a quick script to create those), where the hero is in all possible positions within a tile. Then put the real hero somewhere invisible and create a hero event with the new charsets. Then manage the graphics at the movements by yourself. Problem: Camera.

It would be possible to create a variable that built up as you pressed the left key, the right key, and so forth, and this variable could possibly scroll the map for you. It would however be extremely complicated but could indeed be done.
