I don't see the point though, why not target the most robust of the three and then add the missing feature?

Yeah I might want to change that. And if you want front view, just don't have battler sprites. Actually, the import from 2k command should actually be useful for this thing. Who knew?
I always went through so much trouble to have a battle system where you can see your party with the enemies. I always hated the battle system of 2000. If you want front view though that'll be easy to support.

If all you wanted was a turn based system with lots of pictures, there's no reason for me to test against Value. I could just give you a turned based system and lots of pictures.
This is ages from a final build. It's not even a beta build.

I presume this is how one would supposedly use 20XX with RM2K or RM2K Value (v1.51)? Or are you talking of something completely different.
I'm only testing with 2003, but if you want a turn-based battle system like it you could set it to that mode. 20XX is more a joke on the time period Mega Man takes place than it working with 2000 and Value.
so I'm willing to wait if that's what it takes.
Yeah, I think I'll get plenty of bugs to tackle that will come through. If more people try this out on their own now and get me the bug hunting data, the more stable the end will be.
At least I'm not releasing something this buggy with a 50 dollar price tag as product hahahahaaaaaa
Also, in the final or late build, is it possible to hide the data up top from displaying?
No. I should actually explain it too, its helpful sometimes. EID is the entity the data is displaying information about, P is the page, C is the current position in that page its running, Ms is a timer every time you use a Wait command, and S is the current stack. The stack increases when you do things like call common events.
but can you make a comprehensive list of what this release (and the program itself) actually does or is capable of doing, and how to use it?
No battles or menus currently, but that tab up there, "Supported Commands!" is a detailed list of exactly what the commands do. The only thing missing from pages is the Item / Hero / Timer 1 / Timer 2 options for page conditions. Everything else on there works.

Yeah I haven't written those yet. I know I said it would be in this release but I didn't want to half-ass something just to have something. I want to do a cool, simple, convenient menu system in the style of WeaponBirth.
Events run though, but only the supported commands do anything (like Message and Teleport).

It assumes vanilla. You would add a couple of syscalls to the beginning of the game to set it up how you like it. Thanks to your testing though, it seems like a patched editor + 20XX = total disaster. So just tell me what you want that the vanilla editor doesn't support and I'll get creative and draft up some syscalls for a solution.

No problem, do the following:
1. 20XX current looks in the path
C:\Program Files\rpg2003\RTP
for the RPT.
2. Even if you don't have any custom resources, the empty folders must all be there in your game folder (Chipset, System, System2, etc.)
It doesn't need to.

how does a game determine what editor its using to run, for example, if you have two, but differing RM2K3s installed?
It doesn't need to.

It won't fix the bug though since the bugs a bug, but I'm sure you'll be able to edit the game like I can. You must be unlucky because it's working for many random games I've been testing. I'll be uploading a gallery of games I'm testing quickly (not in-depth like the four listed).
