I could just multiply enemy HP values by 10 and stuff in my engine if you used the plain editor. List off the patches to the editor and what they do. I'll think of solutions for those because I expect a vanilla editor regardless of what actual editor you use (Enterbrain or third party).

I will support patches to the engine though.

Oh wait, you patched the editor to unlock a few things, right? That also means you got a specific version of the editor that works with the patches.

You should re-install the editor I guess. I wish I could link you to my version here. It's unlucky for your editor to act like that. Did you get an old version or something?

I'm going to debug the very end of the map tree really hard because my engine occasionally reads the markers wrong after that heap of unknown data. If you find other games that do this, let me know and it can help.

It works for the four test games on my page though, I guess I picked em' lucky.

What you do is make some quickie RTP games and try to get other parts of my engine to crash. Even though you didn't send me specifically an RTP quick crash game, I'll still award you one bug found for this since it's a pretty annoying bug.

Also I have no clue what this means.

Well here's what the .lmt (map tree file looks like)

- Number of maps and stuff
- Map 1 properties and name
- Map 2 properties and name
...
- Herp DERP DERP for a varying number of bytes
- Starting markers, and sometimes some other data?

Your game's map tree section here is all out of whack. Yes the starting markers are stored at the end of the map tree after some unknown BER compressed integer.

Your game also works just fine in my editor, it has not been corrupted in a way preventing me from editing it.

Smart idea. You should see if my engine reproduces the video when you run it on the Tiamat Sacrament. It might give you an error about not finding system2c but it'll still run. Want to make sure it's not just a reaction to your computer specifically.

Paste the link here. If you map tree broke your game, there's an article around here about how to recover your game.

Because

On standard games, there's so many factors involved it is difficult to isolate what actually happened.

I suggested you make quickie RTP game to test the features that are so far implemented.

Sounds weird.

"Of course I put it in a game."

What game?

"for all intents and purposes my game folder is unusable by the editor."

It sounds like the editor itself broke. All file permissions for my engine are read-only, and it writes wcrpg.txt. You probably map tree broke.

"Also, isn't there supposed to be a 'Start/Load/Exit' game option on the title screen?"

I didn't write the menu yet so OK is just start.

Did you put it in a game? What game did you put it in? Can you take a picture of the game folder?

EDIT:
Seems like my engine can't detect if you didn't set a Hero Starting position. I made a new game and ran the program and it gives me a Could not open Map0002.lmu error. Weird, it used to tell you specifically that there was no hero starting position.

EDIT:
Hahahaaa! I also found out that if there are no events on the map, for some reason the engine doesn't draw the player too.

Integration

This is scope creep at its finest for 20XX

You sure got that right! I've got an insane speed going tonight and I'd like it if the whole project went this fast. I want my engine to be playing games versus a 10% finished version that can run on my microwave.

As if I wasn't already creeping scope anyways, hahaha!

From the rundown of all possible RPG editors out there, it looks like the most common problem is either slow speeds or abandonment. I'm going to try not being in that list.
