Not sure why people think there is an afterlife or even a soul for that matter. If a soul is created upon birth then it makes sense that it is destroyed upon death.

We totally would have ended up with nothing but lakeside castle resorts if no one could see all the other lakeside castle resorts that were already submitted.
I feel like the lack of trees made lakes the best option. There were certainly improvements in tile usage as the maps kept getting posted.

I would have liked the entries to be hidden until the deadline is over. It would add more surprise to it. Instead of someone seeing all the maps and then thinking "I should make something better"
Seems like it would be a good thing to keep in mind next time.

For anyone still working on a map the deadline is in PST(12:30 pm currently) and Thursday will be the last day to submit. You don't need to submit a map in order to vote. Basically I am using the pixel joint system where you can vote for up to 3 of your favorite maps. Just post your votes in bold in this thread after the deadline. I feel one day is all it should take for that.

Originally I was using an edited version of this chipset for my game which featured a dark castle similar to the style of the first map I posted. After I failed to find a good chipset for the competition I went back and found the original and filled the empty space with the stuff I thought was cool from my edited version while trying to keep as much variety in it as possible.
Of course the styles didn't suit each other and that made some tiles unusable but the maps came out better than I expected and I ended up trying things out of my comfort zone which I felt pretty satisfied with. I think I learned more with the limited choice of tiles then I would have if I used a super awesome chipset.
