RM2K Damage Algorithms
post=90840You would think so, but it doesn't seem to include it.Damage = Base Damage + (Attack power of A / 20 * Attack influence of skill) + (Defense of B / 40 * Intelligence Influence of skill)Wait... Doesn't the hero's Intelligence stat come into play when calculating the damage output for skills?
post=90840Only if 'Ignore Defence' is checked seemingly:Come to think of it, doesn't the target's intelligence stat come into play when calculating the damage output?
RPG Maker 2003 Help File
When Ignore Defence is checked, the damage algorithm is as below.
(Defense power of B / 40 * Attack influence of skill) + (Intelligence of B / 80 * Intelligence influence of skill)
Strange, i've never really looked into the algorithms either so I never really noticed this before.
RM2K Damage Algorithms
Are these what you're after? (These are Rm2k3 by the way - straight from the help file)
Normal Attack
Damage (HP decrease value) = (Attack power of A / 2) - (Defense power of B / 4)
Skill
Damage = Base Damage + (Attack power of A / 20 * Attack influence of skill) + (Defense of B / 40 * Intelligence Influence of skill)

Hey
New-ish. Only Forward was first published in 1994 and Mortal Engines in 2001. Brave New World is a great book though. I really like dystopic fiction - stuff like 1984, The Chrysalids and Fahrenheit 451.
Hey
A few years back I was told that the hoverboard from Back to the Future was real. I remember being oh-so-gutted when I found out this was not the case.

when I was skateboarding, skateboards were wide and fat and only had one curved-up end and was sort of shaped like a fish.
The best kind. I'm after one at the moment.

I managed a full flip of the skateboard and then jumping on it afterwards. Is that a trick?
Yup. Keepin' it old school..

ya, we need more cyberpunk freaks around 'ere. we always do. read any good authors?
Michael Marshall Smith has some good stuff going on. I've read 'Only Forward' which is currently my favourite book of all time, but apparently 'Spares' is also equally as good.
Philip Reeve also has a series I like: The Mortal Engines Quartet which has one of the best concepts i've heard of: Towns and cities become mobile on massive caterpillar tracks and eat settlements smaller than themselves. It's more steampunk than cyber, but it's exactly as awesome as it sounds.
