Not all girls require a present. The main thing is to figure out where they are and how to trigger their events. Sachie events are on the starting map and north (park) map. Ditto with Nanako. The schoolgirls and their various events are primarily on the east map.

Glad to see some interest. Yep, each playthrough will be unique. I'm very excited about this game! Wish I could release it already, but there's still work to do on it.

For what it's worth, a *kind of* spiritual successor to Heartache with new gameplay elements has actually been in development for 10 years (><). Still alive, but still a long ways off from complete and I wouldn't blame anyone for failing to get excited about it. Alas I can't make games at the same pace that I used to.

Yeah, I would pass on the idea of bringing the game to Steam.
On the question of a sequel, I never developed plans for a direct sequel, which might be a shame, but it is true that a spiritual successor was in the works for a fair while. Then the pressure to get a "real" job ("real" meaning of course relatively unexciting yet providing stable income) led to the project unfortunately being left buried under a pile of life's stinky laundry, forsaken if not forgotten. I do sometimes think about returning to it.

OK, I can't count the number of times I've played this game, but this is the first time I've had this happen to me. I just had a girl's Heartache go past the maximum before I even got her phone number - on day 13/12 no less. In other words, I went a full 13 days without meeting one of the girls (in this case, Tsubasa). Mind you, this was during playtesting, and the number of girls I'd met was approaching 20, but really this is probably something that shouldn't happen.
Ah, hmm, interesting.
