So just to clarify:
Can I use heroes from different RTP sets together? For example, if I want to make a RPG Maker 2000 game, can I use Ralph (in the 2k style) as a hero?
If that is allowed, it should also be possible to change the names for heroes that appear in different RTPs around (Zack --> Brian for example).

I'm really intrigued by this ghostly ability thing. Since you say "such as," I assume that there's more than just taking over bodies (which sounds interesting and I wonder how freely you'll be able to do this).
Do the other characters have unique abilities too?
There are few other ghostly abilities indeed. For example, interacting with people through their thoughts. Since you can't really 'talk' to them as a ghost, you are able to see what they think in a limited fahsion.
I try to provide a few approaches to every situation, but with every new possibility, a lot of stuff needs to get added aswell, especially when characters are interacting with a possessed one.
And yes, other characters have abilites aswell! The slime - for example - is pretty sticky, so he may or may not be able to climb some walls.
I want to talk about these mechanics a bit more in a blog post, so stay tuned. (:

@Xenomic: Haha, a change indeed. The bottom screens looks way better, even though RTP can look nice (But not the 2k3 one >3<). Even though you said you wouldn't change the dimensions, the big part of water on the bottom of the map looks rather empty. Also, that plant on the water is not supposed to be placed.. on water, I think. But yeah, looks cool. huge improvement. :0

You Are Not The Hero! Review

WThat would be like playing to be the shopkeeper and all you do is sell stuff to NPCs.
And as you can see, >>it works<<.
Recettear is truly a game about not being a hero. In it, you run a shop and need to gain a fix amount of cash within a week for the game to continue. While you can just buy stuff at the market or from customers, the heart of the game is the dungeon system.
Yes, the game involves combat, but you are still not a hero of sorts. Why? Because you are playing a different character while in combat. The shopkeeper is managing your inventory and loot.
So yeah, that game shows how you can make a fun game, involving everything you like, while staying faithful to the term "You are just a normal NPC". And honestly, to get back to YANTH, this is something I hoped for when I read the title for the first time.
