Is anyone else starting to get that gnawing panicky feeling that they won't get finished in time for the deadline?
It's horrible, yeah. I always feel like I'm wasting the plot or gameplay idea if I "just do it for a contest". Damn perfectionism.

A Golden Week of RPG Maker 2003
Asking the real questions now: Could we - for example - create a picture of a character from its charset and color it in using the build-in color feature of pictures? If so, some neat effects would be possible. Colored textboxes even. Or the ever so popular cutscene beams.
Actually, you could probably build anything that is a flat color.. :0
Something like >this<. Color it flat black - bam, cutscene.

You're free to put splices of RTP assets into individual pictures. You can't edit them though. The font of RM isn't a RTP graphical asset so it can't be used as a source for splicing into other assets.
So a custom textbox made with the existing system.png is fine?

So should we pack all the RTP files with the finished game or just assume that everyone has the RTP we used installed?
The official English 2k3 version is out!
You know what would be really cool? Some sort of small game creation event to accommodate this.
I'm in the mood for a small vanilla RTP project. :P

Seeing you guys being so up to date on the newst DynRPG:
Can someone tell me if the isMovePossible function from RPG::Character is just buggy or works like it should? Because I'm getting seemingly random wrong outputs from it, and it is a really important function for things I am trying to do.

Background Edit
Wow, this is parallax scrolling, different layers and Layer 3 - esque effects on the screen in one! Very nice. :D

Bump. This is halfway down the page, and kinda too interesting to just die.
So, this works by making a script file, am I reading this right? Which you can then edit using Lua. Do you need a special compiler to do Lua edits, or does it just read the file and you edit with like Notepad?
No, it reads it regardless of the editor and no compiler is needed. I think the examples that go with it are a pretty good reference for that (and also really useful). (:
