after a long period of nothing, i'm now working on a game i intend to release in chapters, i plan on working up to chapter 5 until i release it though

Variance, or something like this? I can help you make simplistic formulas if you want =D
i meant, if the character has 100 atack and the oponent has 20 defence the atack would do 80+50% of the original atack meaning 130 dmg, but i think i have the damage figured out, as for stats thats coming allong nicely, now i just need to make sure the stats of the main characters don't increase to fast or slow

a = the user of the skill
b = the (current) target of the skill
atk = attack stat
def = defense stat
It's just simple algebra from there. I'm going to assume you understand algebra, if not... well you'll either have to learn it on your own-- or someone else might be kind enough to teach you.
i have no idea what algebra is, but i'm figuring it out, step by step and slow as a turtle XD thx anyway

i just recently started playing around with RPG maker VX ace and i'm trying to get the battles balanced out
for this i'll need to do a few things (i think)
-i need to get the stats of each character (archer, monk, samurai, sage) balanced out (so to make sure the sage doesn't hit heavier than the monk for example)
-get the stats of the enemies balanced out (i think setting them equal to the characters stats and then playtesting and lowering if needed sounds doable)

Well......for once I finished a game. Usually I either run into puzzles I dont want to take time to figure out, unsure where to go or what to do next, too long to sit and grind just to get a measly rise in whatever, areas that seem to twist and meander everywhere and far too confusing to find an exit for and in the meantime fighting hordes of baddies...........anyway.
This game never really put me into any of the above problems beyond my desire to go through it to the end. In fact I was enjoying kicking the balloon juice out of everything right at the end mainly due to my ability to gain levels with the EXPERIENCE RING....yayyy.
I actually might go back to my last save and simply grind another couple of levels just to see what other spells leveling provides.

To make your own character:
1. Create the tachie -- you'll need a graphics program
2. Create the profile in the Character Customizer -- mostly self-explanatory
3. Optionally write story events -- the game's scripting language is needed for this
Everything ought to be explained in the help file included with the game.
yeah, i took a look but didn't get it (i never get an explanation, i usualy learn in a trial and error way, but i like it since i learn other tricks along the way

i found a tutorial of sorts, i copied the whole game so i can mess around and see if i can get it to work without accidentaly destroying it
